Hi all. Sorry for posting just ow. I was outta home for couple weeks and no internet. So I couldn't check my team.

I've got this player I'd like to share with you. See if you can help me decide how to train him:

Jump Shot: strong Jump Range: strong
Outside Def.: atrocious Handling: atrocious
Driving: inept Passing: strong
Inside Shot: inept Inside Def.: awful
Rebounding: respectable Shot Blocking: mediocre
Stamina: inept Free Throw: prominent ↑

19 MVP / 208cm

Thanks for help

I don't think this is the right thread for this type of question but I personally couldn't care less about that so I will give you a few tips anyway.

Given his height, I'd train him into a forward. But before we start thinking about what position he is best suited for, you've got to improve his defense. Dramatically.

Let's start out by playing him at least 48 minutes at the Point guard (PG) position during the week and switch your training to Pressure for just the PG. This will train him the fastest. Make sure that you also let at least 1 more player on your team get 48 minutes, preferably a young player with a decent enough potential. By looking at your squad I would suggest Renato Mazzarini.

Pressure will mainly train Outside defense (OD), but also a little bit of Inside defense (ID).

Keep training him until he reaches about strong (8) OD. This will take a while unfortunately but it is necessary since a guy with terrible defense simply won't do you any good, no matter his position.

Considering that he is 19 and got poor defense it might even be better to focus on Mazzarini for your training. Mazzarini could even have a small chance of playing in U21. Your 19 year old player might be able to become better though thanks to his potential despite being a year older. Maybe Nachtmahr could give some additional thoughts about his potential to reach the potential before getting too old as he is better than me to calculate how well players improve with training.

And very welcome to the game. Feel free to post your players, but I suggest another thread for that. There are many managers that are generous in giving tip. If you speak Swedish I prefer to use that (even if Nachtmahr gets big problem in understanding) as almost all are Swedish speaking that use the forum.

Understanding swedish isn't that big of a problem ;) It's the own writting...

As for the training there is also the possibility to ignore the defense completely. I did this with a player in Utopia and to be honest he is very useful. It's just 1on1 forward, JR, and IS training. And this until his cap. The trainee above could useful a high passing too and this would give him an even bigger arsenal of weapons.

I would like to see IF these players are getting any training and if they are, what are the training for?

Name, age, Possible NT Position, Type of player, Notes.
Kurt Kurtsson, 23, PF, scorer deluxe. Very dedicated to train for NT.
Pelle Pellson, 26, C, defensive monster with PA. Plans only 1 more year of training.

This way It's easier to manage and coordinate training for all of us!
Do the NT lack any special sort of players?

As you pointed out, as a small NT-nation, we need to continue to include and motivate our cummunity.
You and Jacob_f are certainly helping with that! Lets keep it up!

Wedling is very allround but will be stronger offensively than defensively once I am finished with his training (next season he seems likely to be capped). These are his stats, which won't help any scout from other teams much:
TSP: 113 (65 + 48)
Cap: 23.53 (24 to 26)
Skill Points: 113 (65/48)

Player pool:
TSP = total skill points

Akersten (23628505) ,35 years, guard, 115 TSP, propably last season for the NT but still one of the best guards

Sommarborg (22673873), 35 years, PF/C, 108 TSP, also the last season for the NT

Martinsson (26026001), 33 years, PG, 121 TSP, our nr.1 guard in the NT with exellent game shape through the last seasons

Mazzolini (26311479), 32 years, SF, 138 TSP, our main SF and currently the leading player in TSP in Sweden, very balanced

Tunggard (26311181), 32 years, SF, 128 TSP, the strongest "Superstar" and also a very balanced player, a light version of Mazzolini

Sandbom (26311732), 32 years, PF, 128 TSP, strong inside skills paired with exellent handling and a good outside shooter and passer

Gilland (26311336)

Tuikkala (27460888), 31 years, SF, 129 TSP, something in between of Mazzolini and Tunggard. most of the time with an exellent game shape and a very aggressive player

Molner (27460754), 31 years, SF, 126 TSP, another strong SF who has no weakness thanks to a balanced skill set. he can play in every tactic

Claesson (27461066), 31 years, SG, 124 TSP, our back up of the last seasons, very strong defender

Tjädermo (28622932), 30 years, PF/C, 133 TSP, receives training and can play in every tactic an important role. Together with Sandbom one of the pillars of our inside game

Widerström (28622847), 30 years, no position, 131 TSP, a player from the group "unique" with monstrous defense of a C and the tools of a PG.

Everland (28622993), 30 years, no position, 130 TSP, and another player who has a very rare setting and can play every position on the offense!

Adolfsson (29885532), 30 years, PG/SG, 120 TSP, unfortunately an unbalanced skillset but could turn out to be interessting

Öby (29885591), 29 years, C, 113 TSP, offensive beast

Wedling (30858004), 28 years, SF, 115 TSP, a very balanced SF with an exellent manager. If he can generate more skills, he will succed one of the older SFs

Gijon (31909798), 27 years, C, 113 TSP, defense monster who gets still training in guard skills

Birgersson (33689846), 25 years, PF, 122 TSP, and the youngest player with at least 120 TSP. He can play in every tactic and has an dedicated manager who keeps him in GS and trains him till his limit.

Carlsson (34495290), 24 years, G, 90 TSP, a prospect. he could turn out to be an outside guard or it could be not enough. everything depends on his training

Säfen (35350416), 23 years, SG, 105 TSP, a monster in the making. Unblievebale training speed, already one of the best defenders and he will be the best outside player at the end of the season. Currently the brightest young player in the pool.

Ismar (35935391), 23 years, PG, 100 TSP, receives training to improve his outiside shooting. If his potential gives enough room for improvement, he could turn out as a fanatstic supporter guard

Sunesson (36171202), 23 years, G, 95 TSP, trains fast and has already a good skill basis. Everything dependa now on how well he will be trained.

Stjärnland (36976134), 23 years, G/SF, 96 TSP, will receive OD training for the whole season and after that his offense will be improved

Lagerhall (36171154), 22 years, C, 74 TSP, strong inside attacker who needs some guard skills before finishing his inside skills.

Smol (36975202), 22 years, G, 86 TSP, a balanced skill basis and he needs the specific training now

Westerlund (36975313), 21 years, C, 83 TSP, gets outside skills. his manager will make a strong PF/C out of him.

I hope I did't forgot any players. If someone of you has a interessting player, contact me. The younger ones (21 and younger) aren't listed with one exeption, Westerlund. But there are a lot of promising players. It's a strong player pool...

Very nice read! Fun to see that the database initiative is paying off to a certain extent. A number of players from the first that may be relevant for NT.
