Congrats Gully. You won it a few times with an oldie high salary team, and now with your home grown (ish) lower salary version. Nice team management/rebuilding.

Wasn't close though? Pfft. I won 2 quarters and still had a lead yesterday with about 5 minutes to go! I was at a gig last night (Hot Water Music and a few others in Manchester if anyone is interested) so not watching properly, think I'm glad...When I tuned in and I was doing well I have to say I was looking forward to game 3 today though. Not to be I guess.

I will admit to the first game being a mess, at no point did I consider I might've faced patient...Out tactic-ed there for sure :) (and in a way that set up me 3-2ing yesterday, when my team is better suited to defending inside m2m)

I hate making these posts, but I suppose they're better than those when you're pretending not to be upset about losing.

Congrats to Gully. Pretty dominating finals performance there.

Thanks elmacca. Dominated the scoreboard, but definitely not game 2 as Bergkamp said.

Thanks, this was my hardest ever final, and the first where I've beaten the better team. It was my bought in players of course who scored the points for me in both games.

With 2 minutes to go we were level, you had the ball and I was already preparing for my losing speech when we got a huge steal, followed by another, eventually managed to score and then the whole last minute thing skewed the score. Relief followed by pleasure.

I am uncomfortable accepting praise for using such a cheap and nasty tactic but it certainly won me the game, and therefore the title. You did mention Alburger after beating the Tide but I knew what I was going to do as soon as the conference finals were over. I pretty much knew what I'd do in game two as well. Game three didn't matter since I knew I wouldn't win it.

I hate to praise myself but I can't help admitting I'm especially pleased to have won a third title after such a long gap - the longest in EBBL history, and also the Wasps being the first team to win the EBBL from both conferences. And, as Bergkamp pointed out, using a completely different way of building the team.

I don't particularly enjoy training to the exclusion of winning but I've managed it, and I guess its proved worth it. The two beasts did their jobs, 10 blocks between them, 15 for the team, which it could be argued were the difference in an inside dominated game.

Now I just have to decide if I want to play fcp in the B3 next season...

1 player with MVP or above potential in the whole draft, and he was a 19y old 2.6k salary guy. That's not right...
Hope no-one invested too heavily with a high pick %}

I can tell you there were eight or nine 5 ball 4 ball guys... Pfft.
I picked the wrong season to scout 47 guys....
