He dropped to 9 the week before the all-star break. There's another thread that documents that.

Ybarra was at 8 before this week because the week he dropped the only option was a lower rated coach, and last week I hesitated a moment before choosing Rosales because I trained stamina and thought there would be no difference in coaching skill for that. But the lower cost analysis convinced me to make the move.

Even if you are right about timing (which I demonstrated not to be true), why didn't you switch to Rosales this week? The lower price/higher rating argument still holds.

you doesn't see here a dilemma? If you have a lvl 9 trainer for a long time - you should expect a drop and if there is anyone at disposal - you should to hire him before your drops

...or not if you trust to the old one - you can risk and have him continuousely until next one appears...

dilemma dilemma dilemma

I know what the problem is and i know when to make the right decisions, but Ybarra dropping from 9 -> 8 in a matter of weeks after his first drop was totally unexpected and ridiculous.

The reason why i responded in the other thread was because the guy said it was stupid to not hire a level 9 when it got offered.

I can see now why our French supplier sometimes barely understands me:D

not taking a lvl 9 trainer, after weeks and weeks of no trainer above 7-8 was just stupid, face it.

...from that thread... and I think it was

It is only stupid if you didn't have an equal or higher level trainer.

but see - this is the point - you KNOW that there will be by the time any drop... and you could EXPECT that there will be soon, so why don't hire a "fresh" same level trainer?

How could anyone expect a trainer drop 2-3 weeks after he already dropped? I think that's why people are having this discussion. And on top of that, the same could be said for the new level 9.

It's the same thing when i swapped Alain Dubois with Ybarra. At that point it was the wise thing to do, because Alain Dubois was a level 10 for a long period of time.
On the other hand Ybarra was just a level 9 for 1 week. Is it wise to switch to another level 9? In my eyes, no. I will have to pay his salary as a fee and i would have to wait 6-7 weeks to really save money, because the new trainer' salary was a bit lower. Did anyone expect Ybarra to drop within 2 weeks after? I doubt it. Are we therefore stupid? I highly doubt it.
