How do you know he was my first preference?

He shouldn't have been my first preference. I'm double checking that now.

I see now how you know he was my first preference. Honestly, I've made some kind of mistake or the ge made some kind of mistake, because that player should not have been my #1 ranked player going into the draft.

I'm starting to believe that maybe I set my draft order, then forgot to hit SET or whatever it is to save it. I've done that before, so that could be my issue here.

Thanks for the info. Probably just stupidity on my part.

Like I said, most people in D5 and D4 get one of their first 3 preferences. His league everyone got their first preference.

I still think it's a mistake to sell him, but to each his own.

And I completely disagree with the idea that the max potential of draftees should be affected by the league they're drafted from. Higher division managers have many challenges, but they already have a lot of benefits. Now they should get a higher percentage of valuable trainees? Allowing them to sell for more money? I just don't see any reason for it.

If it seems like the higher divisions don't produce many quality prospects, I'd guessit's just a factor of the fewer total draftees there. There's only ~24 18 year olds in each top league draft (assume ~50% of the class is 18). In contrast, there are 6144 18 year olds in D5 (24*256). Given that good 18 year olds with good potential are pretty rare, by chance they'll land in the largest leagues, not the upper leagues.

I wanted to just see what the breakdown was for my league, and here is what it came out to............. total number of players for each potential level...........

Announcer - 0
Bench Warmer - 3
Role Player - 7
6th Man - 14
Starter - 3
Star - 6
All Star - 6
Per. All Star - 3
Superstar - 3
MVP - 3
Hall of Fame - 0
All-Time Great - 0

In my opinioin, 24 of the players were useless........ meaning half of the players were useless.

Yea, I probably jumped the gun on listing him on the TL. But I'm going to have a hard time fitting him into my training rotation. I already have more than 3 trainees that mean something to me and I don't want to get rid of any of them for sentimental reasons.

If my new draftee does not sell, I'll try to work out a game plan to fit him in. He's probably a better trainee than some of my others, but I've grown fond of my other guys, which is probably a mistake.

Oh, I know all about having too many trainees and not enough spots. And for getting emotionally involved in the idea that if you could just keep training them a bit, they'd really get good. Even though actually doing that training would detract from another trainee who would ultimately be better. It's not an easy set of decisions to make, which is part of why it's such a fun thing to have to manage.

Keep in mind that I've only played one season, so these trainees have only trained for one season. So they are behind where they should be, I'm sure. But my trainees are

Noe Jarvis (only player left from team that I took over, so he has sentimental value)
Tunc Elidemir (best trainee, he was recently appointed to Turkey U21 team)
Phillip Brunner (first ever dratee, so while not that good, he has sentimental value)
Loe Li Mei (big man who starts one league game per week inside, then gets 48 minutes at gurad in scrimmage)

season4 - pick14(!) - Rickleff Distler (4599748) - still on my team. FRANCHISE PLAYER

damn didn't know he was 14th pick, with nearly optional starting skills. Should be still the youngest player in a real U21 game in germany(with 19), or did Will put his mascot in to steal his record?
