IMO, until a team is on National cup, tax shold take care of it. That 50k for every stagewin are still a weekly gain.

Exactly my point, lets say I have balance -40k, that means that after cup game I have profit of 10K, and know I will have -20K instead.

I think your tactic of selling young trained players to buy vets for promotion may still be viable. I think the value for players that are in the 20-40k range that will soon see their salary balloon will rise, and my guess is to the point you'll be able to cover the OT for the few playoff weeks. Also, the value of players at the end of the season, who expect to see a raise salary is updated will also rise. I think you'll have to make adjustments but you could still make your tactics viable.

@Sid Vicious
So essentially it is the players salary at the time you purchase them or their current salary - Which ever is the cheaper

It's the players salary at the time you purchase them. It's also written in the news
This applies only to the salary your players have when they are acquired

I think the news post may be wrong on this. From what I've heard from someone who did the math on their players, and has players that have had their salary reduced, it took into consideration their updated reduced salary as opposed to what it was when they were acquired. I think that seems more fair as well.
Edit: I may have misinterpreted, since what I thinkk you said earlier in this thread about older vets' salary seems to be correct.

Ok so can someone tell me if im screwed then? See below and any suggestions would be great,

Overextension Tax Calculation
Total Revenue: $ 158 871
Total Expenses: $ -443 629
Training Exemption: $ 0
Overextension: $ -284 758
Overextension Tax Rate: 50%
Overextension Tax Total: $ -142 379

Do i fire my high salary players before Monday financial update?

will i get hit with the extension tax on monday update (2 days time) ?

Well not this Monday but the next one.
Additionally, this rule will not be applied during the first 4 weeks for new teams and on the first week of each season for all teams.

So no one will pay the Overextension tax this Monday.

Wasn't Dec. 23rd the first Monday of this season? We payed salary on that day for this upcoming season, so I would assume teams will start paying the OT on the 30th. Maybe you can find out for sure EGM-Nickleon?

But the players needs to be a team´s rookie to have the salary exception? for example, if you buy a 18 years old player whose salary is 5k and train it until his salary goes to 100k you have the 95k salary exception or not? because the announce does not say that has to be your rookie, does it?
And where do you see your trainig exception? because I don´t see it or I don´t have it.

You're right on both things. It's just that the BBs are contradictory. They follow the common sense logic, not the strict logic.

Yes, the first economic update was 23rd. However, in this case they consider the next Monday to be the first of this season. Why? Well, it's the first economic update, with the new salaries.

Yes, veterans wage drop isn't included into training exemption. It states that players salaries are taken upon their joining. It would mean that salary drops are included. However, since it's a training exemption, naturally, only the positive players are included.

Basically, if the site was run by a mathematician, or anyone who read Euclid's Geometry, there wouldn't be any logical contradictions. Unfortunately, it isn't the case :)

True, but then you'll still lose money just like S25 and before, and a lot of money at that

If you remember me, then I don't care if everyone else forgets.

it does not need to be your rookie. It has to be someone you trained. So if you get a 20k center and turn him into a 200k center and you never have to be bothered by this tax again because you will be plus 180k bonus.

you can do a "mouse-over" in the economy page where you have this tax.
