I think players who shoot better guarded are exploiting mismatches, and that goes to getting your team to shoot at certain positions.

I think generally the mismatches help, but I also had a guard who had the highest JS on my team for most of his almost four seasons, who consistently shot a much higher percentage on contested jump shots than on uncontested ones (something like 55% on contested vs. 45% vs. uncontested). This wasn't a case of a guy playing out of position either, nor was it something that only occurred against lopsided competition. Now that the offsite's advanced stats are dead, I can't get exact numbers any longer, unfortunately.

To do that you would have to have players with high OD, RB, and ST. Most players with high OD aren't being trained in RB, and vice-versa. Theoretically, yes. You could do that. But the builds would be so out of the ordinary. Also, if the other team has at least 2 amazing bigs with RB even close to yours then you won't really lower the difference.

I have 1757 players for sale and I'm $25,835,360 in debt. Buy them at outrageous prices, or be selfish and make me go bankrupt. You decide, BB.

So if you run a Full Court Press, couldn't you lower the rebounding difference by having a strong or stronger rebounding team than the opponent?

Nachtmahr, the renowned German expert in all things to do with shot blocking, believes that you can afford to give up the rebounding in favour of higher shot blocking. As well as higher steal stats, fcp gives you more blocks, and Nachtmahr believes you can block (or force a miss) enough shots that the extra ORs won't matter. If I'm misremembering what he said then I apologise to him.

I'm not altogether sold on that having seen just how many ORs you can give up playing fcp but certainly more SB is a benefit.

In lower divisions of course, you should be able to have greater rebounding and at least get close to your opponent's totals. I work it out as needing 10% more to achieve a level playing field. So (forgive me for stating the obvious) if your opponent has 10, you want 11.

On a slightly unrelated point, steals aren't really what you want to look at. Opponents' turnovers are all that matters. Even if your opponent throws the ball out of bounds, you still have to regard that as a success for the press.
