I was cursing the BB gods for my scheduling luck this season. I had to play the top 4 teams in the Big 8 all on the road (based on records at the end of inter-conference play). Made for a grueling attempt to get the auto-promo slot to NBBA. As of now, it looks like I will get it if I can win out. There is 1 other D2 team with a single loss (Resurrected Fury) but I have a good buffer on PD. If I hadn't lost to 10inch verticals though I would have a much less stressful final 4 games of the regular season.

It's in the books, finally I can respond to this! Re: "Not to mention the injuries...", you didn't mention the injuries, but man I swear every time I scrolled down over the past two seasons a recognizable name with a not-insignificant salary was taking up to 21 days off. Like for a while I thought Edgerer was a spot journeyman replacement for Dogana or Sumanas but you just kept him. You've had two really strong seasons in a row, good luck at the next level.

Nick you stole a big man from me with your Utopia team while I sleeping! Thought we were cool!

Thanks Harold! I’m glad you waited to post this to avoid jinxing it

It’s been a fun ride in this league the last 3 seasons. You have to deal with me for one last playoffs and then I wish you all the best moving forward

Every now and then I think about hanging up the Humanfund and calling it a buzzer career. It's leagues like this that keep me going with the fun interaction. I don't wind up in many leagues like this. Thank you all for a great season this year and good luck to all in the finals. Cheers!

Being in D2 is fun for a lot of reasons, but one of my favorite is that D2 feels like the tipping point where there are more managers who serious and engaged than those who aren't. Even teams who are losing have managers who know what they're doing, care about buzzerbeater, and will at least occasionally contribute in the forums. Definitely makes it more fun

I hope someone else here will continue my season preview tradition next season!

Haha, I feel you! I had my first team back in season 2. I left for a few seasons before coming back and starting the Terriers and it’s still just a blank spot in my memory…

My first season was season 8... before I had any kids. Wow. Now my son has a team and I was sitting with him this morning explaining finances, processes, and patience.

That’s awesome man. I had a team from season 12–17 I think. Didn’t really understand the game like I do now.

Very cool! Having your kid in the game adds a whole new dimension to rivalries. My kids are still a little young for BB, but I don’t think this is their scene.

If I’m remember correctly, I ran all the way up and into the (season) 30s, took a break, and started up again with a new squad. For my son, it has been a good opportunity to help him understand some economics and organization. I really do like the depth of buzzer beater. Hopefully there’s not a lot of fundamental changes in the future.
