This is my first time not winning the championship in four seasons
It's been a heck of a run! Even while rebuilding you made the playoffs in the NBBA, I'd say that's a pretty successful season :-) Now we have to hope that some of those foreign teams have more money than you in the upcoming bidding war for A-Dubs hand-me-downs!
They say all good things must come to an end...I am hoping the same isn't true (yet) for my team. I am going for my 6th consecutive Finals appearance (4th straight in the NBBA). However, this time, despite HCA I don't feel like much of a favorite to get there. High Point has made some strong roster moves, and my team is facing a $236K payroll disadvantage going into the game. It's going to take quite the effort to win that game Saturday night.
Lately, we have been plagued by in-game injuries and foul trouble that wasn't happening prior. Feel like my team is slumping a bit going into this post season.
A side note: I wonder if all 4 of the top ranked teams in the USA have ever made it to the Conference Championship round of the NBBA playoffs like we have this season.
Not that anyone expected it to hold up, but Yorkville put up quite the fight against Ups last night. Yorkville went up 38-35 with just under 8 minutes the left in the half, before Upsydrome turned it on and finished the game on an 80-45 run. They consistently have games where they shoot in the upper 50% range...but even if you have a good defense, and make them struggle to score, they NEVER let up defensively. So all they need is for you to go a few possessions in a row without scoring and it's almost always at the very least a mini-run for Ups. There is just no margin for error against that well-built team.
A-Dub you should list your players for sale tomorrow with a 3-day auction :-) Save yourself some money for this weekend's Financial update :-)
