Rondo is also a different player from the guy two years ago who wouldn't bother to keep the opposing PG in front of him.
If you don't think he still has lapses defensively and can't be taken to the hole with ease, you don't watch the Celtics very much. If he played in the West, he'd be abused regularly.
It works both ways, really. Rajon Rondo's role is not to take jumpers, it's to set up his four hall-of-fame teammates for wide-open shots.
You mean, the one-dimensional shooter with bad ankles, the effective yet aging melodramatic scorer, the decent but no longer great offensive PF, and the formerly relevant space eater ;)
but yes, each player has his own role. Put Westbrook into Rondo's role, however, and he excels. Reverse it, and Rondo struggles.
Not to mention, Pierce is not a Hall of Famer. No way. Bernard King isn't in the HOF! He's one of the best scorers to ever play the game! Him and Mark Aguirre are still waiting for election and both were far better players than Pierce in his prime.
GM-Edit: Please avoid using profanity. Remember that there are some younger individuals who also play this game and roam the forums. Thanks.Last edited by RiP at 11/24/2010 9:40:31 PM
