Jeorgians handicapped after Stepanov injury

"We won the Cup game but we lost our man Stepanov" said Pim Blank after leading the reserves to a cruising victory over their lower league counterparts. Coach Jeorge also said, "We could have avoided this if I havn't decided to have him dressed for this game. But I know Alex is a tough guy, he'll be over that injury in no time. Too bad, since the team have been grooming up for the next week where we will face the top team from the opposite conference. Hopefully, the other guys would step up.

"CP3?"

The fans were heared chanting CP3! CP3! not because of the famous NBA player Chris Paul but to cheer for Calvert Porter.
It rained 3s in MOA Arena Maxx (Jeorgians Homecourt) as the team combined to shoot 12/27 from the 3pt. territory with CP3 leading the way with 5 conversions. With its torrid shooting from the outside, Jeorgians was able to buck the absence of top bigman Alex Stepanov to deal the Great 8 leader Dog only its second loss for the season.

asked for Porter's comments:
Porter: Swerte lang maaga tayong uminit ngaun, kailangan din mag step-up dahil medyo malaki ang nawala samin ng ma-injure si pareng Steph..buti nalang gumana ang shooting natin ngaun. i also give it to my teammates for stepping up.. di lang naman ako 'to, buong team ang nagsikap para sa panalo na 'to.

Coach Jeorge: Actually di na ko nagulat sa performance ni CP, alam nya na kung ano ang gagawin sa mga ganitong sitwasyon. Ang gusto ko tlaga i-acknowledge ay ang performance ni Tapiador. Naisip ng coaching staff na bigyan sya ng pagkakataon na ipakita ang kakayahan nya at di nya naman kami binigo. He really stepped up. Nakipag basagan talaga sya ng mukha sa ilalim kaya naman tuwang tuwa kami sa performance nya. Madalas natatabunan ng ibang teammates nya ang performance nya off the bench kaya sana eh pagpatuloy nya lang ang pinapakita nyang hardwork.

New Platoon breaks the heart of the Heart Breakers

The upset streak of New Platoon continue as they manage to hold Heart Breakers into 84-69 win.

Ayhan "Bagyong Haiyan" Belezoglu and Kurt "American Sakuragi" Mayne lead the way with 22 and 19 points each.

"It's a hard game but our defense worked very well in the 2nd half," said Ayhan.

New Platoon has now defeated the top 3 in Big 8 and the top 2 in Great.

"Ang mga panalong Ito ang nagpapatunay na kaya naming magchampion ngayong season. Pasalamat na lang sila at May trainee kami."

Thanks DoG, the team thrives in D. Aside from the great D you also used R&G w/c generally results to lower FG%. Pinartidahan mo pa mga big guys ko kaya wary pa din tlaga ko sa team mo idol. :)

if DOG and Jeorgians meet in the finals.. it will be a battle of OFFENSE VS DEFENSE..

DOG is number 1 in points made - 98
Jeorgians is number 1 in points allowed - 70.5

nice fact Platoons. di ko napansin yun ahh.. lakas mo talaga sa scouting, hehe.. well, that match up would be nice. saka di din naman papahuli sa defense ang DoG, look whose at 2nd in terms of FG% allowed. :)

and that match up is still a big "IF" dahil syempre di papayag ung ibang teams na ganun ganun nalang. right Mr. Fearless? hehe! :D
