Well if you saw that Turkish player,you can say that it is very very very inaccurate,I have some cases in my team as well...
And of course,i didnt even meant it to be totally accurate,but 1.2 mil for that guy,come on



Im surprised he even got a valuation.... i wouldve expected to see not many players similar to _____ have been transferred recently.

They are the really special ones!

I might be able to scrape together 1.2 for him if he gets relisted!

It seems that people are not grasping what this feature does. It looks at players with similar skills to the player in question and then sets a range based on the transfers that have gone before. If some GM sold a very good player for a ridiculously low price because he didn't know better and some greedy daytrader sold a similar player for a ridiculously high price then the range would reflect that. After another three seasons, I highly doubt you will see such large discrepancies.

I have noticed that most complaints about this game are that there is not enough clear cut information as to how things work. Why should there be? I think the random factor of this game is part of its charm. Why shoud there be any set-in-stone training speed rates? Why should there be an exact transfer range?


People should be willing to think for themselves just a bit and make some decisions based on their own judgements, insights, and feelings. If they can't or don't want to do that, maybe they should go play with a calculator instead.

Once I scored a basket that still makes me laugh.

Not quite sure why this was directed at me! Never the less... the inclusion of a transfer compare feature actually REDUCES the need to think for yourself. The decision as to buy or sell can be confined to deciding a) if you think the player is fairly valued and b) do you want to pay the price.

I'm not expecting miracles and a pre-set price for each player however I will stand by my point that no-one rushes into the transfer market and makes their first 1million purchase without doing some research so why is a transfer compare necessary at all?

The sheep that follow this are basically 'not willing to think for themselves' because they are assuming that just because 8 players sold for a similar price over the last few weeks they can justify the purchase they are considering or the price they are listing for. This means you are simply accepting the communities average valuation based on the perceived value of each skill without knowing the formula for how each skill is used in the game engine.

You as you confess have chosen to go down the build up your initial squad and keep each player nice and rounded. Now as a community we have already started to value these type of players... but based on what? best guessing.

Are we right to value the players as we do? Most transfers at the moment are guesswork based on what we think or believe not facts. If we have more facts then the ranges can be more defined so I guess the wide ranges are fine for now...

I just prefer for people to think outside the box... and this in my opinion will not encourage it.

My post was not in direct response to you in particular, and I was certainly not trying to single you out. I apologize if you took it as an attack.

I see your point, one you voiced very clearly. I agree with most of it.

However, I think that having a price range is very good to inhibit people from selling, say, a 150k player for 650k. And people do rush into the transfer market and pay ridiculous prices for mediocre players. Maybe not the first million dollar baby, but I'd be willing to bet that there are more than a few that spent 650k on a player similar to the one referred to earlier in the post with their first splash of significance in the transfer market.

My point was basically that people seem to be expecting a feature that tells you an
exact price based on all of their player's skills and attributes. And that people are complaining about a feature that has such a small smaple size to begin with, which is neither right nor fair.

Finally, an experienced player does not need this feature and should be able to take the information as just another tool in their decision-making belt. Newer players, less savvy players, and players with less time to spend on the site should be able to get a lot of help from it.

dont worry no offence - i give it out a lot on the forums so I have to be thick skinned to take it back!

I agree with your points however I dont think everyone realises how little activity there has been in the transfer market relative to the activity we saw a couple of months back... there are very few top end players changing hands, training speeds are slowing and people seem to be preparing to keep the nucleus of their squad together as a) they get to know them better b) become more attached or c) cant sell (like me) because of previous trading history.

In order for the market to pick up we need to see another big increase in managers - if we stay at this level for a while then its probably wisest to stick with the team you have as no-one wants to take the risk of not replacing one of their better players. A further dry up in the market and continuing slowdown in training speed may result in this seasons draft picks being the only viable players to keep improving.

I have a feeling draft picks are then going to become even more important next season...and so on....

It shows that they don't only look at the main skill otherwise they would not say my player is probably better.

they can easely compare the wages to see if they are better or not...

I don't think that a player's wage is directly proportional to a player's skill. A player with one "marvelous" attribute may have a much higher salary than a player with 5 "strong" attributes but not be anywhere near as good a player.

nope.... i saw a player with 17 in free throws (phenomenal) and he had his wage only 3.7k !!

My opinion: ft shooting is probably considered as a secundary, meaning less influence ingame AND for wage.
