Ye Sets Huge Record; Eagles Manage to beat Blue Sox
Eagles were able to win it here, putting more effort into the game and it paid them right, winning against Blue Sox 92-80. The player of the game was Ye Huaien, who set a record for most points by a Mountain Eagle ever, 50 points. He passed the old record of 44, Held by both him and former SF sensation Zoran Jakovic. We were ble to get Zoran on the phone, it was at 12 PM in Sydney, Australia. "WOW, this dude actually broke my record, thought I would've held the record for longer then this, congrats Ye whoever you are lol." Fans were screaming and yelling once Ye got his 46th Point on the 3:34 mark of the thrird quarter. Then when Blue Sox too a timeout with 2:57 left in the 3rd, tough gone to the court and chest bumped Ye. "THAT'S what I'm talking about!" It showed everywhere in Dodge Arena. 50 POINTS!!!!!!!!!!! Then fans started chanting "YE! YE! YE! YE! YE! YE!" Here is PG Burruchaga, who gave the assists for Ye's 46th Point. "It was crazy. I can't believe I will take place in history. Now I know I will. I mean, record-breaking point and assists! It was awesome." Then there was Vasko, who was credited for the rebound. "OH YEAH! Part of history, for now. Now it looks like I will be a good PF sooner or later"
Then Ye got back in the game with 2:55 left in the game for the 50 point attempt. Fans cheered as he stepped on the court. They were rooting for him to get to 50. Finally, at the 2:01 mark of the game, Ye Huaien hits his 50th point from the elbow. Then when he gone to the bench people were giving him a standing ovation as he gone to one of the fans and signed an autograph. Then when the buzzer sounded everyone cheered. Here is PF Stillfried......"I may be old, but I still play hard. 14 points and 15 boards is still productive. Hopefully I can still put up these kind of performances for about 2 more years, and hopefully end my career with good rebounds." Now here is tough: "Great game by our guys. Though we still have a few problems we need to fill. Our bench needs to get stronger. Ashley did good today, he played as the 6th Man today. He also had a couple of assists and some good plays. Now we will go to Cheektowaga's place andd lose by LESS than 50. That would be an accomplishment to me. So let's go in there, and have fun. After that we can go to Flying High Stronger and Better, and be able to beat Flying High, and then ineverwin, and then make an upset. Let's GO Mountain Eagles!"
Watch Tuesday as the Mountain Eagles will be taking on Cheektowaga. This is Derek Alston, reporting for The Eagle.
