My PF picked up his 3rd foul with 2:13 left in the half and picked up his 5th with 1:13 left in the half....3 fouls in 1 minute...OUCH!

It's been a heck of a run! Even while rebuilding you made the playoffs in the NBBA, I'd say that's a pretty successful season :-) Now we have to hope that some of those foreign teams have more money than you in the upcoming bidding war for A-Dubs hand-me-downs!

They say all good things must come to an end...I am hoping the same isn't true (yet) for my team. I am going for my 6th consecutive Finals appearance (4th straight in the NBBA). However, this time, despite HCA I don't feel like much of a favorite to get there. High Point has made some strong roster moves, and my team is facing a $236K payroll disadvantage going into the game. It's going to take quite the effort to win that game Saturday night.

Lately, we have been plagued by in-game injuries and foul trouble that wasn't happening prior. Feel like my team is slumping a bit going into this post season.

A side note: I wonder if all 4 of the top ranked teams in the USA have ever made it to the Conference Championship round of the NBBA playoffs like we have this season.

Not that anyone expected it to hold up, but Yorkville put up quite the fight against Ups last night. Yorkville went up 38-35 with just under 8 minutes the left in the half, before Upsydrome turned it on and finished the game on an 80-45 run. They consistently have games where they shoot in the upper 50% range...but even if you have a good defense, and make them struggle to score, they NEVER let up defensively. So all they need is for you to go a few possessions in a row without scoring and it's almost always at the very least a mini-run for Ups. There is just no margin for error against that well-built team.

A-Dub you should list your players for sale tomorrow with a 3-day auction :-) Save yourself some money for this weekend's Financial update :-)

Yeah, I exceeded my expectations for this season. I knew I would be remodeling at the end and so I just hoped to be able to take fifth place and earn some cash. I ended up in third and oh boy do I have cash - a lot more than I was planning on having.

I just am dying to see how teams like Yorkville and High Point end up looking when the season starts. Yorkville has always been great and HPH is doing some great stuff with all USA players which I think is awesome. I think Hassan nailed it when he said next season will be the start of a new era.

As for Bowwmans.... we'll see. I'd love to grab him, and I know I have the cash to do it, it's just a matter of how much cap space I wanna save for others. Time will tell!

I was actually surprised at the first quarter especially since it was my third CT in the last 10 days.

Where ever Bowens lands (along with all my players), it would be cool to see him get a B3 title. That's my only regret, not being able to accomplish that myself.

It was a close game at first, but that's to be expected when you run a weak offense against a double correct GDP + POCT. I was lazy. I really didn't do much game prep other than managing minutes for the next round. I saw the double GDP coming. Before the game started, after quickly checking to see what I ran last season in the first round of the playoffs (II), I actually intended to switch to an outside offense w/ Britton and McEwan at guard (18JS/12JR respectively), but by then, it was too late. However, telegraphic tactic patterns aside, I typically only run three offenses: in Phyr's sitiation, it was very smart to choose the least dominate offense for the most optimal outcome. I applaud his managing acumen.

What I've noticed about the 2-3 zone is that in the first few quarters you come out strong, then it all falls apart after half time (depending on strength of opponent). In my one point B3 loss, I was actually up by 20 points before halftime while using the 2-3 zone. And many teams have ran the 2-3 zone defense against me with similar results -- the second half fall out. I'm not a fan.
