You are absolutely right.
The new system being new suggests that the initial release of the combine results will be the initial release of the system, although it takes a bit of extrapolation to reach that conclusion. The real release date was given here:
"Season 13 will debut a new, more interactive scouting system!"

Why would any more clarification than" it is coming in season 13" be sensible, judging from the reaction we are seeing in this thread? I understand that people no longer have any patience. I understand that people feel they deserve some sort of extra service because they pay, although what they pay for are all of the extra services they already receive. I just disagree that they are right or that the developers are under any obligation whatsoever to A) release a feature that isn't ready or continually update what is going on in game development.

Try to look at this a different way. I realise, as I am sure most people do, that the BBs are working hard and doing the best they can to release this new feature as quick as possible and with as few problems or bugs as possible.

But people are impatient. People like to know what is happening, regardless of whether they pay or don't pay.
Would it really be that hard for a BB to post a message on the news page once a week saying something like, "The new draft system is looking good and should be ready for release in a few weeks", or "The draft system is nearly finished and should be released later in the week."

I'm not saying they have to do this, I'm just saying that it isn't that hard to post a message once a week on the subject to keep us all updated and prevent people complaining about it for hundreds of posts.

I think this thread started because it was ASW in a few days time (when the first post was made), which is one of two times in the season when new features generally are added. I don't think the thread started off as any more than a request for clarification on whether the new draft system would be introduced during ASW.

I don't think generally that supporters hound the BBs for details on proposed new features*.

*Let's just leave the economy out of this.

Listen, this thing is coming soon - real soon.

However, we want to make sure it works before we release the final product. We don't want to be like a software company that releases a console game and then has to release several patches to fix all of the items that do not work just so that they could rush it to market more quickly so that they can make money more quickly.

We don't have that financial burden - we do not have to rush something to make more money.

To quell fears, any scouting you've spent money on will be available when the new scouting system comes out (and please note that this is actually a new scouting system, and that the actual draft event itself will remain the same).

I'll be glad to answer any questions that are not "what precise moment will the new scouting system be released" =)

Since you put it that way here goes:

In the new system, are we able to scout specific positions and/or individual characteristics (e.g. scout PGs only or scout 7 footers with PG characteristics) ?

For me it would end the frustration of finding out at season's end that, although I train guards, most of the money spent on scouting went to scouting PFs! :P

You wont be able to specifically target that information before scouting, but you will be able to see the most likely position and approximate height for players after doing the appropriate scouting.

You know how in the old system the draft list was released when the playoffs start and you have 3 weeks of managing your list. In the old system the scouting update that occurs with the Monday financial update was for next season. In the new season can we gain scouting points every week up until the draft or is there a cut off date for the next season like there was with the previous one?
