S16 - SGP Tournament - Quarter Final : SLZH blew past Jaguars 73-54, earn the franchise first semifinal ticket.
Not the same Jaguars, supposedly they should be, but that 27-4 first quarter lockdown to Shohoku Backers were totally invisible.
Leandro Perrone & Eldegez Abilov scored 16 each to bring SLZH to beat Pekanbaru Jaguars for the first time after previous 2 meeting with 73-54. Jaguars were only trailed 31-35 before intermission, but SLZH used a strong second half to start the surge, thanks to their defensive intensity which is good enough to wear out the Jaguars on the 2nd half with 38-23 advantage.
Jaguars' Tommy Kupila & Petrus Debrier were held to 6/23 & 6/19 FG, scored 15 each.
At Xavis arena, Shohoku Backers had no problem to eliminate Xavis 99-72 behind 17 by each Soler, Darras & Kostis, and Singapore Showstoppers beat Pacific Storm 99-86 to advanced to semifinals for the first time.
Sessioes Doers once again claim their place for semifinal berth, cruised past EBC 83-47.
The Semifinals :
SLZH (rank 17) vs Shohoku Backers (rank 1). Now the ranks are real. Shohoku is Singapore #1, but if SLZH played like how they beat Jaguars, the match should be interesting.
Singapore Showstoppers (rank 9) vs Sessioes Doers (rank 5). The duels of two Big 8 powerhouses. Best offense vs Tough Defense. Both team has a lot of depth. Expect a battle between Eike Balkhausen & Noel Lima.
