If it gives me any comfort, tataas ang arena attendance ko dahil higher seeded teams kalaban. Sana makalusot ako ng isa pang panalo para secured sa sixth place. The sixth and seventh placers in the other conference have beefed up their lineup, so it won't be a walk in the park 'ika nga.

The Pirantas Purchase: a case of buyers remorse?

Lithuanian Vytautas Pirantas is starting to feel the pressure from DLSU IE-98 fans after only his second game.

Similar to Andreas Bargnani's first couple of games with the New York Knicks, Pirantas has yet to produce after being purchased for almost $ 300,000.

"I know that the expectations were high and these were set prior to my contract signing, so maybe the pressure is getting into me" said Pirantas.

Or is he?

The Lithuanian attempted only three shots in two games, with zero conversions. This leads to averages of 3 boards, 1.5 assists and 1 block per game in more than 11 minutes of action. Fellow import Gary Lea, also acquired mid-season is now posting decent averages of 6 points, 2.2 rebounds and 0.8 assists in roughly 13 minutes per game. Fans are now starting to wonder if the MVP-caliber player was worth the money. "I have yet to see production from him (Pirantas). I watched his first home game and was very disappointed. Hopefully he gets to bounce back on Saturday" said Sam Bad-ee, an Engineers season ticket holder since season 24. "I heard of his potential when he was in Lithuania so I guess he has yet to find that team chemistry. We are out of the running for the playoffs so maybe the coach can field him as a starter for more experience" said Rep E Ter, owner of a hotdog stand near the Velasco Hall.

Whatever it is that's bothering him, he better find a way to produce soon. Engineers fans are not used to seeing their prized acquisitions flounder.

Gardeners bury Engineers, 121-84
Lea and Pirantas placed on starting lineup, Zarate calls it "a game time decision"

And so the losing streak of DLSU IE-98 continues.

Alvaro Iturren scored 28 points in a losing effort against the Secret Gardeners last night. The highlight of the game, however, is the contribution of regular starters DJ Montano and Luduvico Estil (8/34 FG, 20 points). "You can't win games if your starters don't do any scoring" said coach Franco Zarate at the post game press conference.

With the season winding down and ensured of a relegation match-up, the Engineers have now started to field their reserves in the starting lineup for experience. "Gary Lea and Vytautas Pirantas were a game time decision, and we might be fielding the rest in our last two games" said Zarate. Team captain Lucilo Quilao, when asked to comment, welcomed the idea. "We need everyone to develop so we can compete against the higher seeded team in Division III.7."

NEW PLATOON BOUND TO TAKE REVENGE AGAINST HELL CATZ

Every New Platoon fans still remember what happen last playoffs and many of them are very nervous for this year's playoff as they face again their tormentor, Hell Catz.

"Everyone on the team last year still remember everything that happens on that game, thats why they want to return the favor to Hell Catz," the team manager of New said.

The New Platoon manager also talk to the BB gods to assure that the best referees will be at the game this afternoon.

When we peeps at the practice of Platoon, nobody wants to give any comment but we are shock when Ayhan Belezoglu and Erap De Leon brought out a flag with the logo of Hell Catz and they burned it! Sending a chilling message to the BB universe!

The End of A Nightmare

For the first time this season, Ayhan Belezoglu, Erap De Leon and Lebron Velasquez close their eyes last night without thinking about having another nightmare about their playoff against Hell Catz.

"We did it! We gave them hell like what they did to us last season," Belezoglu said.

"Wala na akong balak maramdaman iyong naramdaman ko last season kaya binuhus ko lahat," De Leon said.

When asked about their semis match against After Shocks, " They already decided to rebuild so we are looking to have a good time this saturday," Velasquez said.

Engineers lose three players to injuries, may miss season 28 opener

It seems DLSU IE-98 may need to rely on its incoming recruits for at least the first two weeks of the next season.

Guards Carey Velez, Caesar Jesus and swingman Gary Lea will be out for two to three weeks due to injuries. Caesar Velez suffered a calf injury against Lee-Thal Angas last June 28 and is expected to miss three weeks. Carey Velez suffered an ankle sprain last June 26 against POM.... and is expected also to miss three weeks. Gary Lea is expected to miss at least one week because of a sore hand.

With the upcoming draft scheduled the second week of July, DLSU IE-98 rookies will experience a baptism of fire by playing against the more tenured Division III teams.
