Actually it would/could work...they would be buying the "rights" not the player. A guy could advertise:

"I have the 8th pick in my draft. My league has 11 bot teams, and 5 human owners (only 3 are actually really active all the time). Pick for sale! buy now while you can!!"

Starting Price: $50,000

You could make it a blind purchase like that...Or the buying team could specify the criteria of what kind of player they are hoping to buy. 18 year old, 6 ft 7 and up etc IT can really crazy and detailed like that...but it could also be fun.

You guys need to understand that draft has certain value. If we just look at it from league level, spreading it out to bigger number of individuals lowers the quality per player. I remember BB's saying, that it's pointless to create more players that go directly to retirement.
As for the sell draft on TL, really bad suggestion. Creates extra opportunitys for friends to co-op/cheat. Why would you need to draft 6-9-12 players? If you need a certain player then ask your countrymen to draft that and then buy it on the transfer list. This would create so much hassle for nothing. I can see people already buying 300-400k worth of points for 50k. It would be like a direct transfer, that's exactly why we have TL, so every deal would be out in the open. Not done behind closed doors.

First, few suggestions are "really bad"...Its an idea, a suggestion, you shouldn't crap on people right off the bat just because its not your idea or you don't like it.

Second, I do agree with you that it absolutely would open the door to cheating or friends getting together...However, I am sure there are ways to protect against that the BB's would know. Also, from a strategy point of view; it wouldn't necessarily be about accumulating "6-9-12" players....For me personally, I have 6 trainees, one is about to graduate, and one I plan to sell. I don't like training 6 players, I am much more comfortable with 5. So I am hoping to land 1 one really good player in the draft, and sell the other two. With this suggetion, whicih I think is a neat suggestion, I could choose to sell all 3 of my draft picks (I will pick between 8-10), and use that money to go buy 1 really high draft pick from someone else.

I have no doubt this idea would be very complicated, difficult, and challenging...however, it would ad a fun element to the game, and as far as suggestions go, whether realstic or not, its a pretty cool idea and fun to talk/think about.

with that, though, I can agree.

I have a "gift" of seeing loopholes. What are you exactly expecting me to do? Not speak out before a week has passed? When is the correct time to say this suggestion sucks because...
I'm just saying, it's just like direct trading with obvious chance of gain for just one team. So it can be easily abused. We have TL that is fair for everyone, why buy draft directly when the player can be drafted and then listed for everyone? I agree it can be "fun", but it has a lot more negatives than positives. It's just not worth it.

I think that's a GREAT IDEA !

I'm curious to see whether stuff like height are the exact height of the player. I would have thought they would provide something more vague because there was a concern of info-sharing, but I still think there'll be variance on the height (as if some are with shoes, some without, and whatever else normally happens in the combine that exaggerates some player's height)

I don't think there will be a variance. I think the age and height given are exact values.
