The player you bought will get some penalties on his GS.

This is where we hold them!

BB-patrick gave us a very good reason why enthusiasm drop cant happen. (238664.34)

Perfect, now we need good reasons why GS drop must happen...

I have non of those. I think this change as it is will not improve the game experience. And something needs to be done for promoting and demoting teams adapt their roster to their new economic reality without losing gameshape in those key first weeks.

Also I can understand wanting to limit market play but I personally enjoyed trying to have succes in the transfer list. For me the transfer list was the best part of the game. I bought supporter so I could track players.

That took a big hit so I started training do be able to play the market game, you buy and trade trainees. With over 30% fees it was not an income but I did not lose money and had fun. Now that has been taken away. I have no use for my supporter package anymore.

On hattrick you have those situations too (they have 1 mil users).
When you buy a player your team spirit (ent) will (can) drop, the player don't become any penalties on his GS.

I thought it would be the same on BB, but seems they have an another idea, we will see how long the penalties on GS will be, and how strong.

Yeah, HT went the different direction and decided to give a bonus to players who are on the team a longer time, rather than a negative to players who are on the team a short time. For TL moves, the team spirit drop can be avoided if you happen to narrow your search to players with the correct personality traits. But the comparison isn't a real apples-to-apples one because HT has already attacked the monster player angle in a different way, by changing the training so that training slows down as skills reach high levels, and the skill drops speed up on higher level players (and are age-independent). The other significant difference is that there's not nearly as much of a postseason in HT as in BB; in BB, there are playoffs, relegation series as well as the Cup and B3, but in HT, there are far fewer teams who would have incentive to rent-a-team. It could happen for teams in late rounds of the Cup, or perhaps the Masters, and then the teams in the promotion/relegation matches, but because only half of the league champions need to play those and only the fifth and sixth place teams play relegation matches, the problem isn't nearly so severe.

You can still buy and trade players all you like, but you can't just replace players wholesale and expect full performance from them immediately any more. If this means having to plan out purchases a little more intelligently or having to carry some roster depth or not being able to just throw money at problems that crop up or having to manage around a gameshape hit for a couple of weeks, so be it.

This is why I love the new GS hit....THIS GAME IS A BASKETBALL SIM!!!! Not a stock market game. I am sure they have one of those out there some where. I bought supporter for the Private League games and the jersey numbers, scoreboard,......you bought supporter so you ca Bookmark players...that is silly.
the GS hit on the newly bought player is perfect..The team shouldn't get the GS or ENTH. hit...that is crazy. The player has to learn the new playbook, the team are still running the same plays.
Bravo to the BBs for this new feature.......It is perfect..It stops the RENT a beast hours before cup games and it puts the nail in the coffin for day traders....now if you want to day trade, you have to pay two or three weeks salary(+1 plus the extra time to get GS up)....Perfect...
conclusion: THIS IS A BASKETBALL GAME!!!

One thing i still dont get is : the GS hit affects only the player bought or the entire team??

I think it affects the team too. My 1st time in BB history without players with strong-proficient GS during the 2nd week despite playing them 60-80 minutes this week. (Training updated here in Philippines) I bought a new player too.

And you win the trophy for being the "first team complaining of his GS update after the first friday".

GS hit will only concern the purchased player and this will only happen in 3 months.

Maybe daylight savings time caused it to happen earlier for this user?

True for a club..but i still have NT worries.

for example:
what if i get mail like this:

"........... has played 64 mins this week and will be trained at ............ Can we put him on squad from this week ?... it is hard to pay the wages and keep/train NT lvl players. Hope my income rises if .....has a call. For sure his GS will be good from now on as i told u ;) "

He's gonna sell this player in the future? No? Lets pretend that this player has great value for NT. Now, i have no concern about his future. In fact, as NT coach - i can buy him if he will be on TL.
But next season?

We must remember that most players in NT are well paid. It's hard keep them in one club for many seasons. Changing BBclubs is normall situation. Why this has to be connect to NT game shape?

I like the idea of team chemistry modifier as a new variable for GS of each player that someone proposed. It would affect how player performs in his new club without affecting NT's.
But if such feature for some reason is not in play I definetly prefer GS hit from enthusiasm hit.

First of all enthusiasm hit makes no sense. Why would whole team play worse because one new player joined the team, even lineups that does not include that player? That makes no sense to me.

There were many more reasons posted why entusiasm drop is not a good idea so I will add only one other that was mentioned briefly in one of previous posts but nobody really expanded on it and i think it's an issue important enough that it merits to expand on it.

It's buying scrubs to fill the roster for scrimmages.

If buying a player would result in enth hit that would force managers to either

a) field your regular rotation players in scrimmages
b) always carry 2-3 extra scrubs on the roster to play in scrimmages.

Option A would make managing minutes of your star players even more difficult and in some cases pretty much impossible to sustain high GS
In Option B salaries of those additional scrubs would add to the total cost of training. With current prices on TL it's very hard to make a profit on training as it is and with this additional cost it would make it almost impossible.
