Play-Off X Factor: The Big 3

After a dominating regular season, the Springfield Storm are sitting pretty with the #1 seed in the conference and Home Court Advantage throughout the playoffs. Reliant on strong defense and rebounding, the Storm posted a 19-3 record on the season. Springfield Storm bigman, Marek Kutrzeba was named team MVP after finishing with 16 points, 16 rebounds, and 4 assists per game while shooting nearly 60% from the field. He was the team's best interior defender and ranked #3 in the league in rebounds. He propelled the Storm to the league's best defense and best rebounding team. After coming over late last season, Kutrzeba and the Storm were bounced from the playoffs after just the first round. Although, Marek Kutrzeba's impact can't be overstated. The Storm are an astonishing 23-5 in games that Kutrzeba posts a double-double [(including cup and playoff game(s)]. The other co-star down low, Ian Kosta, has been a mainstay in the paint for Springfield for a number of seasons. He's considered an unspoken leader and the most consistent player on the roster, as he has averaged double digit points and rebounds in 7 STRAIGHT seasons. The young gun, Denis Radzevich reached a whole new level this season, and appeared to get better as the season went on. He didn't turn the ball over in the last 9 games of the season. He led the team in scoring, with 20 points per game, to go along with his 6 assists and 6 rebounds per game. Together the Big 3 averaged 50 points, 33 rebounds, and 15 assists per game. If the Storm are going to get the elusive championship, the Big 3 is gonna have to be even better in the post-season.

Finals Preview and Analysis: Delpra vs. Springfield Storm

The road to the Finals has been a long, treacherous one. But the dust has settled, leaving two league elites in a grudge match that could determine their respective teams' futures- for better or for worse. This isn't out of the ordinary for these two teams though. The Springfield Storm are heading to their 5th finals in their 9 seasons in the league, while Delpra is going into their 2nd straight finals appearance. Although Springfield narrowly escaped the semi finals round, edging the Drunken Clams thanks to Denis Radzevich's heroics. The Storm found themselves down by 8 heading into the 4th quarter, only to come out on top by 6. Delpra made it to the finals relatively unscathed, as they shot spenn out of the water, literally. Delpra shot an out of this world 57% from behond the arc. In what is shaping up to be one of the best finals matchups in league history, two vastly different teams are going to let their performance on the court do the talking.

Season 27 Finals: A Chance at Redemption

Down 8 points going into the final period, the culmination of a months long rebuilding effort seemed likely to end in failure for the Springfield Storm. The Storm are not strangers to disappointment in the playoffs having come up short in 5 finals appearances. After a back-to-back disappointment in Season 23 and 24, the management at Springfield headquarters ripped apart the roster which by most measures was a talented and successful squad, and went all-in on a rebuilding effort that saw the Springfield Storm not make the cut or exit the playoffs early for two consecutive seasons. All of these sacrifices were at stake in the final period against the Drunken Clams, who were playing excellent basketball. But the Storm had a date with destiny. With a monstrous fourth quarter for the ages led by Radzevich, the final box score read in favor of the Springfield Storm by 6 points. Meanwhile, across the country, a hungry Delpra team on the heels of a finals defeat of their own, trampled spenn on their home floor to return to the finals. Boasting a roster with a tandem of elite guards and a young supporting cast, Delpra has proven to be a formidable challenge for opposing defenses.

The one certainty about these finals is that when these two teams collide and their storylines intertwine, one team will finish with redemption and the other in heartbreak.

Congrats to C-Diddy and Delpra on your semi-final wins. Radzevich, certainly played well, as usual. And the dangerous 1-2-3 of Delpra were more than Brisson could shoot down on his own.

I think that the turning point in the Clam/Storm game was Tam's foul out in the 3rd. Before that moment, the Clams had snagged 28 rebounds, to the Storm's 32. But after that, the Clams only pulled down 10 more boards, while the Storm grabbed 19. Tough to hang onto a lead when your giving up possession like that... Anyway, I'm glad I had a decent shot at the finals this season. I honestly hadn't imagined I would. Good luck, y'all.

Congrats to your team as well! You made me very nervous, hang on to Tam, he's a very talented player! And I would imagine you're sitting on a decent sum of cash after the sale of players earlier in the season. Put more talent around Tam and you'll be successful for a long time. Good luck to you in your future endeavors.

Historic Night for Spoonmore Forces Game 3

After a lopsided affair in Game 1, there was uneasiness among Delpra fans still recovering from last season’s Finals loss. The Storm shut down the Delpra offense with relative ease, and convinced many that the Finals would end on Delpra’s home floor at the Google Center. But the young Delpra squad and their fearless scorer Huey Spoonmore were not yet ready to exit the playoffs. Delpra looked sharp from the opening tip and never looked back. By halftime, the lead was 23 in favor of Delpra. It was a historic night for star guard Spoonmore who finished the game with an astounding 68 points on 28-46 shooting. The league’s highest paid player, Spoonmore drew a lot of criticism throughout the season for his production on the court. Many felt that his contribution to the team did not justify his massive salary. This was a night that Spoonmore surely won over some of his doubters by singe-handedly carrying the team and keeping their championship hopes alive for one more game.
