So i have an explanation for what is going on... in a lopsided matchup the team which is overmatched starts out looking for the kind of shots its used to being able to get. But because it is overmatched it can't find any looks at the basket that good, and it ends up turning the ball over cause it keeps trying to pass it around to find a good shot. Over the first few minutes they figure out they aren't gonna get those great shots so they start settling for worse shots... they at least get something off even though its not likely to go in.

I think this is pretty reasonable approximation of what goes on in real life. You'll often seen overpowering teams run up a quick lead on an overmatched opponent before the overpowering team stops trying so hard and the overmatched team figures out how to at least gets some shots off.

I might be able to buy that, but is the GE really that smart? It may be (somewhat) realistic, but it makes for a boring first few minutes and some confused managers when their team plays like crap for seemingly no reason at first.

Also, your explanation explains why my opponent sucked (since he was overmatched) but not why my team played poorly as well. I had just as many misses and turnovers in that period as my opponent.

two things... first, yes the GE is that smart cause that's the way i designed it ;)

second, what game was this? because actually what i said applies to an overmatched offense/defense not team. So if both teams were better defensively than offensively this would be the case... think wisconsin vs princeton.

I'm talking about my most recent game, but I can't speak for how good his defense is.

check this out (1343215)

There were instances on this game that right after i make shot my opponent scores at the same time. This happen a lot and there are instances that the shot is missed.Still, it's kinda weird that both teams can score at the same time.

The only thing that annoys me about the match viewer is seeing player x misses a shot, player y grabs the rebound & player z is called for an offensive foul all in the same second.

Hi.. just wanted to comment on my game from just now...

My opponent called 2 full timeouts and 1 30sec timeout in the last 40 secs of the game yet he was already 30points down?

Is this something that now kicks in regardless of the score? it seems whoever is losing just gives away loads of fouls and the last minute of the match can take forever to watch..

i suppose if its a close game then great but when the game is already won seems a bit silly...

this was posted on bugs forum but i guess its best to just air it and hear others opinions..
