Agreed...part of being the top scorer is playing enough (stamina, staying out of foul trouble, being good enough to be a starter) to have the highest pts/game average.

I think that is not true because you play 2 times a week and a starter is not always a starter because of the training minutes. Although, in my team...

The most common league leaders you see in virtually every league is per game averages.

There's no real reason to overcomplicate the leaders for the benefit of a decided minority of people who feel this is better.

I'm quite agree with the suggestion.
Because actually that's stats mean nothing.

There is many bot with player who make the full game twice a week.. that's not really fair because coach like me prefere to change the roster because of :
- Minutes played
- Tactical
- Trainees

Actually in my league the top scorer are ( with average mn )

21 pts/g for 38 mn -> 0.55 pts/mn
20.2 pts/g for 36 mn -> 0.56 pts/mn
19.9 pts/g for 40 mn -> 0.49 pts/mn
19.2 pts/g for 39 mn -> 0.49 pts/mn
18.8 pts/g for 43 mn -> 0.43 pts/mn
18.4 pts/g for 36 mn -> 0.51 pts/mn
17.6 pts/g for 36 mn -> 0.48 pts/mn
17.4 pts/g for 32 mn -> 0.54 pts/mn
17.4 pts/g for 34 mn -> 0.511 pts/mn
17.4 pts/g for 37 mn -> 0.47 pts/mn

Some of my players who are not in the rank..

12.9 pts/g for 27 mn -> 0.47 pts/mn
15 pts/g for 30 mn -> 0.5 pts/mn
14.2 pts/g for 23 mn -> 0.61 pts/mn
10.7 pts/g for 23 mn -> 0.46 pts/mn

My players are better but not in the standing because i make some rotations to train more players. Look quite anormal...

Following that logic, I have some extraordinary scorers:

17.8 pts for 19.6 mins - 0.91
11.4 pts for 15.2 mins - 0.75
19.7 pts for 26.8 mins - 0.74
17.6 pts for 28.6 mins - 0.62

But 3 of them are amongst the League Leaders, and one of them is 2nd overall... So I don't see bots as problem...

The bots aren't really a problem.

This is a case of tryimg to fix something that isn't broken.

I understand what they mean, and in a way I understand them (do you understand what I'm saying? ;) )

Maybe BB can just add 'per minute' stats in the player's page. I agree it should not be added on the league's page since it would become to heavy on stats that way...

I might, or might not have players who have good per minutes stats, I don't realy care, all I care about is that I win or loose, my players also seldom played more then 30 minutes per game until recently, now some play between 30 and 35 per game consistently, but also only 1 game/week. I find this more interesting for my trainingstrategy I have right now, but quite possibly, when I change from short term to long term again my players will get the minutes more spread again.
If you are unlike me, and do find the league leaders stats important, I can imagine you are bothered by the fact your players don't make it because some other (bot) teams have players who just play more minutes, but aren't better, on contrary...
Therefor, if there is any place left, I'd say it might be interesting to add this stat.

I'm not sure that would happen, but that's much more palatable than replacing a universally known stat with one that is only used by the most intense stat geeks (of which I am one).

sure, dropping the /games stats is out of the question!!
I think we all already agreed upon that. No?

Because points per minute can be sometimes unfair too, the points per game average should be taken into account but, only for players that played at least half of the game time.

It is really unfair for my player which played 2 minutes and had 0 points, to reduce his ppg average considerably. You have to agree with that !!!

Oooor, if it is to have a minimum of games played for a player to be taken into account for the league leaders, than the average should be processed from the best "n" games (n is the minimum number of games) of a player in that season.

I have learnt to accept that the formulas for All Star squad, MVP and the top players per points/assists/rebounders can all be taken with a pinch of salt.

Is anyone going to sacrifice training to try and get someone higher on the stats ranking?

Only if you have a non-trainee playing his natural position and playing both league games as a starter (dont bother playing in Cup/scrimmage or you get a form drop.) this player will/should feature as a top 'stat' man.

Ironically as a non-trainee he wont improve so will be gobbled up by the trainees as they all become better.

I am forever trying to tinker minutes and this week for example I have my main 4 trainees receiving 43/47/49/53 mins in chosen positions with 1 game to go.

Will these players make the allstar team? Unlikely... are they without doubt the best players in my league? By far as even out of position they are weighing in with just under the leaders totals....

Lastly what about the blow out games where someone like me with a small roster gets someone play 2-7 mins at the end of a game? This seriously dilutes the stats... so I vote for minimum minutes not games....

I think they should count them came towards PPG stat from 10minutes played or so.

A different statistics about minutes played in league would be nice tho.
