From what I understand this program is an offshoot of hattrick, the popular soccer/football game so a lot of the players here may have migrated from that game, or am I wrong?

I think this is the main reason :P

the last i checked the USA had over 4000 teams and they continue to climb in numbers. with bot cleanups and suspensions BuzzerBeater USA is still netting more players. i joined a little over a year ago ( real time) and the USA had about 2500 users.
dont know if BB USA will ever have 20,000 users but there are more and more teams each week. im happy with what we have but i welcome the competition.

They are all waiting for more obscure Carribean Islands to be included within the game then they will sign up claiming to be from over there.....

It said so on the internet, so it must be true!

Wait, what about this?
According to a 2008 Harris Poll, American football is the number one sport in America, followed by baseball, then American collegiate football followed by auto racing, then hockey then pro and collegiate basketball along with golf are all tied.

i believe in basketball it culd be the truth ;) At least in europe, nearly all professional team have some americans in their rooster and often in Keyroles - i beleive that showed a bit how many Players the american teams got in comparision to the rest of the world(and this should be a result that basketball is very popular sport)

PS: who the **** likes to watch golf?
