good idea from da cavs

I like the general idea of rewarding players who have reached retirement age (I would say 35) and have played 7+ seasons at your club.

I would do it on a grander scale.

IRL, ex-players also become physios and PR guys as well as coaches, so I think you should may be get the option to hire the player as your staff (any discipline) for a 1k signing bonus.

Their skill could be randomly determined but be heavily weighed to a 4 or 5 (say 90% of ex-players should be a 4 or a 5 in skill).

I also think theiir starting salary could be done by a formula relating to their final salary at your club and should increase at half-speed for a limited time - say 2 seasons. The half-speed salary progression reflects the loyalty the new staff member has to the club at the start of their new career.

I also feel ex-players should have a 50% chance of a talent, I think lthat crowd enthusiasm, career extension and taping injuries talent can all logically be related to the player's experience at the club.

This offers a real reward to the clubs that show loyalty to their players and a nice extra tactical trade-off between shortto mid-term opportunity cost and long-term reward.

Yes, but players never retire on your active team.

I have a suggestion related so I didn't want to make a new topic. Great suggestions here so far. But I thought it might be a good idea to let current staff level-up after time. I mean their salaries go up, so it would make sense. Maybe set up a time system like a level up after a certain number of seasons/games/months with the team. Or maybe for every $10,000 or something like that.
