I always thought inside shot for guards was important, firstly it makes the guard a more versatile scorer , and you could really take advantage of guards with garbage ID...

similarly i think an unorthodox center with high jump shot and jump range could create huge mismatch problems because generally centers don't have great OD ...

Though honestly, it probably comes down to price for me. Unless I'm training Look Inside guards, I'm not going to bother training inside skills enough to make a difference. So the appropriate levels are the highest levels I can get without it costing me noticeably more, which is, I think, somewhere around mediocre.

Is this true? I've plugged various levels of IS on an SG into a few of the salary calculators, and have yet to see any change in salary from IS.

Or even SF! The thing is since many teams are playing zone D, your guards often come up against opponents bigs inside. But still I would rather train JS, 1on1 for Forwards to get my guards an odd IS pop.

From what I understand, IS for a guard is not super important. Driving is more important to produce quality inside scoring opportunities for guards.

As for ID I have not read much on its importance in relation to guards.

I think he meant "costs more on the transfer market" not "costs more in terms of wage".

Personally, I find this type of player useless. If it were my trainee, I'd spend the better part of the next couple of seasons getting his JR up to at least prominent before worrying about his IS.

As he currently stands, he isn't any sort of offensive weapon whatsoever. Sure, he can defend, but eventually the ball will be in his hands in a shooting situation, and the best chance he has to score right now is at the foul line.

IS is only good for guards, if u know hes going in

so as ID, if ur opponent is not going inside, why bother?
