It could be good tactic if opponent has weak FT and weak bench players. In other cases it gives You more disadvantages than advantages.

It should probably be a desperation tactic. If you don't injure their star then you are getting bad performance and you aren't going to win consistently that way. Also when you have a good chance to win the game then it is a bad strategy.
