but the fact is that when i defeated him my world rank was about 8k (81something to be more precise)..and when sidhu lions defeated him his world rank was about 5.7k...so my world rank at that time made me a more underdog team in the game than sidhu lions.so i should have had a majority share of points of the game.moreover the higher we go inthe world ranks the more difficult it gets to get a big boost in the world rank.so if we go by that then i should have had a much higher boost in the world rank.

there are also points disapperaing after a while, on NT level after 2 season maybe he catch up there to you(for example an early cup out in the past, or a big loss while you loose a big win).

Also away could be consider too, which i doubt about enthusiam.

If someone can explain how the ranking system works (not how it SHOULD work but how it actually works) I would love to hear it. I've been in Aus Div 1 for a few seasons now and have have newly promoted teams with a far worse record than me be ranked hundreds of positions ahead of me ... love to hear an explanation for this ... oh and we were both still in cup at the time

afaik is it the glicko rating system(or his succesor), and it work like that.

Each game give you up to X point, while X depends on the game type(BBB, Cup, league/PO- match depending division), and the points are shared based on the result while the rating difference and the point differential matters for the contribution. The winner at least on nt level got at least 75% of the points. The point get cleared after a while too.

Remember that 2 seasons worth of games are under consideration (from what I was told). Remember that some games (cup games, playoff games) hold more value than beating a team at home during the regular season (this clearly seems to hold the least value).

But at the end of the day, does it even matter? Keep winning games and you'll eventually be the higher ranked team.

sometimes i believe they use the match rating are bit in consideration for the world top spots. But this is just a wild guess.

ok so i defeated sidhu lions in the last game ((39809831)) and got a boost of about 200 ranks with that win which surprisingly is almost equal to the boost which i got by defeating golden rule.
the ranking system is really strange and really difficult to understand.

That's because you're playing in a lower division this year. You're beating up on teams ranked lower than you instead of winning the odd game against better competition.

It makes more sense, when you look at it long term rather than short term. You could now pick a few teams (such as your league mates) and put their current status (world and country rank, league record, Cup) on paper - and then check the same teams in a season. World ranks are pretty much impossible to figure out unless you are near the top of the list and participate in B3. Focus on country ranks.
