I think you are underestimating the prices of a level 7 trainer. They are fairly expensive and the cheap ones have outrageous salaries that could cripple a DV team.

And for the selling option, it really depends on skills. Salaries can be inflated by JS and REB. The players couold have horrible OD and ID and PA etc. So you probably would not get too much money. Although(as You have proven with the start of this thread) people do over react to HoF players and you could get money off of the player.

Buying a roster to get out of DV. Can be done with the 300k given to you when you start. Buy a few cheap 5-8k players and then manage GS and Enth. Thats all you really need. I promoted from DIV(eqivalent to USAs DV) to DIII without even managing GS too much. Just enthusiasm. Its simple.

Also you seem to be over estimating yourself and other newbies. How many people would think like that as soon as they start(Spending money on arena and trainer)? I know the first thing I did was look at the TL and buy the first player I saw with a skill higher than respectable!

Im going to be honest, im not sure where I am going with this right now, but yeah.

First thing I did, was read through the FAQs, Help forums, people who had questions similar to mine, since the 1 week supporter allowed me to search threads. Quite helpful. Quite handy. I bought myself a team That I'll probably promote with with 150k of my 300k seed money, and the rest into arena.

yes I may be overestimating new managers. but I also may be factoring in, it could be a guy doing a farm team thing. I looking at it from every angle. I'm not saying don't give this, or that. But, ... he literally created minutes after a different team in my league, while I was looking at other guy's players. (29310) was other team... look at the discrepancy from minutes apart. There should at least be a set kind of range... Like X 18-20 year old with Y range of potential. and Z skill etc. for different age brackets.

lets assume both those 2 teams are newbies. And learn at the same rate, etc. Whom is more likely to succeed at the game and stay with it?

That's what I did, but I looked for over proficient. It only works if you got high enth. I didn't, got in a hole, lost the finals. So then I had to sell off my team, buy 2 more guys for cheap, and all I do now is build arena, manage enth and mins.
As said, it's pretty easy when you got 8+ enthusiasm

What's the best you've ever seen? Now I am curious!

In France, we've had a guy with two 18years old HoF big men with 5000$ salaries in his starting team a few months ago. Not sure if it's the best starting team ever, but certainly close to it ;)

oo! I love free agents. When I'm done with my bigs, I'm gonna train my guards. And I'm gonna buy them off free agency.

might be able to snag the 19 year old SS or HOF.
Or some of the PA maybe 18 bigman PA.

but the 18 year old HOF definitely, out of your price range.

that'd be sad. Waste of potential. What if it was an ATG they started with? Will they then still retire him or what?
