Thanks for such a warm welcome mate.

I was in Div III.12 a few seasons ago (before hitting Div 2) and It was one of the 2 most active div 3 forums around.
I got really used to it and it's the same in Div 2.
Lots of chatter, banter and even some sensible conversations... I KNOW RIGHT!?!?!?

So yeah I'm hoping we can keep this forum going.
Maybe a few other managers will chime in if we make it look like we're having fun *splashes around* weeeeeee this is amaaazing.

Targess, you look like you might be the team to beat from the red side?
I'd like to hear your take on the league as a whole. I have done some research already and bouncing back to div 2 isn't going to be AS cheap as I first hoped. I may need to buy another piece to complete this little puzzle.
My main focus is training and if it's going to be too costly to promote this season, I'd rather wait it out and dominate next season. ;)

No worries mate, not alot of time on my hands but a quick run down on the teams and their chances and a brief. :P
I'll list each side with my own estimate or team rating in brackets afterwards.
Lakes(20) Guards are peaking on potential and will be very dangerous with improvement to come. Team still very much on the young side. Have some solid back up players as well. Would have to be a strong fave at this point.(Not being biased lol)
Millers(19) Better players on the old side, very strong guards and a definate threat this year. Decent back ups.
Balwyn(19) Been here since season 7 and are most definetly the veterans. Team is on the old side and they'll depend heavily on their SG. Contender.
Ants(18) Few old donkeys there, decent young gun though. Some dangerous looking talls. Contender.
Adelaide(18) Strong bigman department but the list aging. Been here awhile as well but will be a threat. Contender.
Myteam (16) Better players are on the old side, not sure what the manager is up to, maybe saving? With a decent signing or two and they could be a contender.
Smokin(16) They have a monster big man but not much else of note. They won't want him getting injured.
GCM(15) My long time rivals but the gentleman never has any words unfortunetly :(. Golden oldies in the side but a signing could make them a dark horse.
Salisbury(14) Again, the better players are old with not much else talent wise. Think they're saving.
Saiyans(13) Some good young players, very balanced side. Seems to building a side for the future, might cause the odd upset.
Kim Jong(13) Fairly average side all over with some decent guards.
Red Hill (13) Talented youngsters with potential, starters are getting old but if he trains those youngsters well he has a lot to look forward too.
Bullets(11) Average side new to the division. Heaps of potential though.
Burgos(9) Lots of younsters, will struggle to stay up.
Gangsters(9) Veterans of the game. very patriotic it seems, squad is low on current ability though. Might struggle to stay up.
Goats(7) No idea. Wooden spoon faves?

Well there you have it, might run down so far. lol

Oooh goody, I like being the underdog. ;)

Thanks for the write up. I guess I had myself ahead of Balwyn and Millers as I know my players skills.
But I don't know theirs and I don't know anyone elses bank roll.

Rofl, well that makes a difference and yes I do know a bit about individual player strengths and weakness from most of the starters with about 8 teams but I can't give up all the knowledge(really isn't that much, play way to many browser games to devote to much time on one).

I'd give your side maybe a rating of 21 or 22 now, most certainly the fave now as it stands barring injuries, GS etc. I'll have to make a purchase or two this season. Really didn't want to, but if I want to have a chance at promotion it seems a formality.

Funny thing is, I put that bid on Ty days ago and had completely forgot about it. Woke up this morning and hey, new SG. and he's a bad ass. :)

From here on out I will probably look at replacing my bench players with actual players and not just cheapo scrubs.

Can't wait for the season to start up and get this show on the road. :)

Yeah it's shaping up to be very competitive with maybe 4 real chances for promotion and a few roughies. He's going to be tough to match up on. Willing to let me know what his inside shooting/defence is like skill wise? lol Sounds strange maybe to some to ask of that of a SG but I know how dangerous a good inside SG can be and seriously underated. Not many sides have guards or even SF's with good inside skills these days. I love to train up my guards with inside skills and will be working on that a bit this year. Pantelidis has played on many a opposition twice his salary and completely outplayed them, his salary is not a true indicator of ability. Not the most spectacular of shooters but not to shabby either but it's periphial skills like handling, passing and inside defence that make him so versitile, plus he has an amazing assist to turnover rate. Rarely turns the ball over even once a game. Just wish I did single position training on him, he would of been a superstar by now. Oh wells, my next round of youngsters(next year maybe depending on promotion) will be one position training exclusively and I'm looking forward to the project.

:)
I could tell you his stats, but I'm simply not that generous. haha

He is likely to play SG for most games.
He could do ok as PG/SF also. But I have solid players for those positions. :)

COME ON SATURDAY!

On the lookout for a certain player atm, have one lined up now but not sure if I'm willing to pay more than 550k, well thats my limit on this position I'm looking to fill.
