I agree except I would train jump shot instead of range to start because I feel that it is more important and won't jump the salary as much.

Absolutely. I mean, why would you want a shooting guard that can shoot the three? Especially with star potential, it might explode his salary to almost 30k. ;)

It's more important that he can make a jump shot before he can make a 3 in my opinion. Why waste salary space with jump range when he can't even hit those shots due to poor jump shooting skills? Besides a player with prominent jump shot and mediocre jump range will probably make more threes than a player with mediocre jump shot and prominent jump range.

I'm not aware of any training regimen that will add five levels to JR and drop two levels from JS, but I would agree entirely that if training JR were to make his JS drop I would definitely discourage it. But he's starting with 7 JS and 5 JR - and he needs one on one also, which will boost JS as well.

Is it ok to leave 1v1 training for later?
with "inept" driving, will the sg be able to take any shots at all, even with good JS?
and then, another remark:
I once tried to train a comboguard, with good JR and good passing (up to 14 each), and I learned that time that the potential is attained quicker while making such profiles
so, if you want to train both JR and passing, the risk is to see the player too weak both at shooting and passing
don't you want to train your player as PG instead? that way, the score in driving is less important, and it wouldn't matter whether you train JR: with good passing and low dribbling, he wouldn't take so many shots

Right, and if this weren't a thread about a specific player I might... well, I'd probably still have found something to comment on. That's sort of how I roll. ;)
