Reaching the finals, even if you lose, gives a large boost to season ticket holders. That will be reflected in a nice boost to your attendance next season.

Not sure I agree with this.

I finished 4th a few seasons back. 12-10 record. Advanced to the finals where I lost a nailbitter the final game and in the following year's survey I was getting only 2.5/3 stars for my previous seasons performance and my attendence was actually down (I had promoted the previous season). I finished 5th last season. 12-10. Missed the playoffs (obviously) and I'm also getting 2.5/3 stars for the previous season and my attendence is down.

Perhaps your 3 consecutive promotions before that meant that you couldn't go too much farther up in STH. Did you track STH? But perhaps you're right, there's probably also an effect of the previous season record.

I know that hte first full season I played, I made the finals and lost (2nd best record leaguewide). Had a ~400 STH boost. Next season I won the finals, and promoted (best league record overall). STH increased 500.

Then, when I joined the D3 I'm currently in, we had a team who lost in the finals 4 times. He had a big arena, and consistently filled it, even with strong pricing. Perhaps it's just the strong record overall?

I never thought to track STH unfortunately. Plus it was only 2 promotions, not 3. Still, it didn't seem right to me.

Well, up to that point in the Hounds history, you'd promoted 3 times (not all in consecutively, yes). Maybe there's some rough limit on STH, and you were pushing up near it? I dunno.

As with everything attendance-wise, "it's complicated." And really, I'm not 100% sure how much the STH reflect/influence attendance.

Aye, and this season promises to be #6. I ought to win my conference finals without much difficulty, but don't anticipate being able to take 2 games from the other conference's likely winner.

Well I almost made mines a well. till the coach pulled the players out ..Ill never understand why when we scored 19pt to the opp 6 pts in the 4qter in the starting minutes they just sat in out in the 3rd and we made momemtum on our side.

We had the stamina .. I don't understand this or kno why , but its pretty stupid. I know it costed me the season, Im going to get a stronger bench and that's starts today.!!.. btw good luck to you and hope you do well

I'm not sure how to react - certainly you can't be saying you started the fourth on a 19-6 run since that's definitely not true, and the sitting out the third and making momentum and all that. What I can say is that you scored two points in the final 7:25 and it's hard to win like that.

the start of the 4th qtr we was winning it , if watch the the game the coach pulled the few important player out when we had a lead early in the 4th. Defense is every thing in those moments, because he wasn't scoring either.

why did we score 2 pt s in the last 7.25 let look at the facts. THE Coach PULLED the PLAYERS OUT!!!< im not yelling just showing why.. What coach pull the players out when your in the lead and having momentum tied the game and went up in score to start the 4qtr.. what sense does that make to do such acts?

It quite obvous you cant win/ nor score when the coach switch the team up to the bench that has no rhythm of the moments nor the skills or the starters to maximize the tactic of choice and starting defense of the other team is building an attack to push back in the game.. Its not rocket science.

It pretty much ruined any chance I had to win that game but the its not get me again, im getting a stronger bench.!! That's a fact!! No point in crying over spilled milk. I know where they sell the next cartons and the mops .
