I appreciate the responses. I definitely wouldn't want it to be a feature to build your team around, but a 22-26 yr old player with good potential (All Star, for example) that is averaging 25 mpg but is not fortunate to part of your training plan because you are focused on training younger bigs with higher ceiling for improvements shod not suffer in the training department. We have to decide to either continue to play them or transfer them. The player is still performing and has high rated nights but is not fortunate to receive the dedicated training. I think all players, even those that are part of the dedicated training, should receive small pops each week and it should be driven by performance, potential, age. These pops should not be enough to build a team but it keeps players from remaining stagnant in the progression department. Again, it should be implemented in a way that does not encourage owners to rely upon as a strategy for building their team, but it should be enough to keep transfer markets alive and interest in the game to continue to flourish. Imagine searching the transfer market for a starter where mpg plays a small part in your decision because you know that player has good chances to still provide solid contributions while not necessarily being tied up in training.

Well there is experience though.

I would like to see a system where players gather XP and progress like in role playing games (upon each new Level you can buy/unlock skills), but such a major overhaul is not doable (is that a word?).

Well I once had a Player that played every game until he was like 22 - he was 2 Levels above everyone else of his Age, but I could not see a huge difference in his stats.

The guy was a weird build back then high IS and driving - had plenty of fun with all his dunks

tbh I would award even more skillpoints - and full Points too (5.9 becomes 6.9)

for the first two XP-Levels 3 Points each, for the next three Levels 2 Points, then 1 Point...

This would probably lead to farming Players, as XP depends on minutes Played only... I would use a 5-7 man roster as Long as I had no expectations to to promote....

Why too much? they would just cap earlier, giving small countries with more flawed rookies the chance to catch up.
