I currently have a couple players I am still training...one is an MVP 27 yr old PG and the other is a 23 yr old Superstar that 110TSP. I am finishing up some outside skills along with the MVP PG then I was going to boost more inside skills when he is 24 along with a couple other inside players who are 20 and 21. I read where some managers train to Max out players which has lasted until that trainee was 29 yrs old. I have never trained players past 27 but I guess as long as they are still increasing weekly or bi-weekly but depends to stop his training and start fresh with new trainees (18/19 yr olds). Correct me if I am wrong please because I have often wondered do i leave untouched skills increased to halt for the sake of starting with fresh trainees

Understood.....please explain what kind of penalty? I'm sorry, I never heard of penalty for excessive training for a national team

Essentially the "penalty" is that you are paying for a higher level trainer but aren't getting much out of him if your training focus is solely on a 27 year old. That is when you cycle down to some younger trainees and utilize the trainer more.

OK, Gotcha now....Kinda what I figured, thanks for clearing up. My problem (and I know I need to break the habit) is that if I see I can get More of sprecific skills from an older trainee (26 to 28) I always feel because I didnt give More training I'll pay when facing competition. I like to get all I can until 25 and then start with younger trainees....Unless I have a team full of vets and 1 or 2 trainees that are 25-26 yrs old that needs to boost outside shooting in order to compete offensively in D3 such as my utopia team and to be honest I just started the real training with the group I have on both teams currently (so over the past 5 seasons) Thanks for your valuable advise. I've used your advise in the past and still use it today.

Maybe some of you in this thread can give me some advice. I have three trainees (21 year olds) that I have been training for two seasons. Got them during 19 year old season. I do not claim to have done it right and do not claim these to be great trainees. I probably messed up a lot along the way. But I am trying to learn, so here is my question. My three trainees below, should I stop after this season and start anew with some PF/C trainees and do it right from day one? Or should I put another year into training these guys? Any advice is appreciated.

I'm in a similar situation. Been training these since their age 18 season. Two of them are close to being capped (only allstar). The perennial all-star I'm debating on either selling or continuing to train. But if I do continue to train him, what should I focus on next. Currently training passing to lvl 10

CLegend33, personally I would sell the allstar and find another to pair with your other two if you continue to train. Good luck in our scrimmage!

I'd focus on passing / OD only this season on these 3. Keep Basoz as he'll have the best skills (just about). You might get a good price for Soko due to his potential but you could keep him also. Peucc it depends on the TPE / price you think you could get. They'd all fit well into a 1on1 training scheme if you're after new 18/19 year olds next season though, it depends how much you need the cash / how many new guys you want to go for.
You've got options but I'd definitely go for that training.

Nice training :) Both of those allstars are close to capped now though, which is the problem with training allstars...Shame you can't get more rebounding on Stefano as he doesn't have enough PA to play SF offensively.
Keep Gab as your SF, sell Stefano as he's an awkward fit and should get a good price, and keep training Heredia with some new guard prospects next season?

I stopped training two P.Allstar prospects last season in my Utopia team (at 25/26 now), I want a few more pops ideally but it was smart to stop I think. Got them both to 122 TSP though so probably shouldn't be disappointed.

I'm still training a 28y old NT guard with my main squad (MVP and maybe capped), but I'm in the EBBL...it's hard to go young again if I actually want to win anything.
