That's a pretty important statement. Can anyone confirm this?

Yes, the game rules.

Just checked the rules again. One important element hasn't been mentioned: Although the effects on the enthusiasm are as described above, the effect on the effort during the games stays the same.

Here the rules:

For particularly important games, including league playoff games, relegation games, and the final two rounds of the national tournament, your players will be too excited to "take it easy". In these games, the only options available are Playoff Normal, in which your team receives the enthusiasm effects of a regular Take It Easy but the effort level of a regular Normal, and Playoff Crunch Time, in which your team receives the enthusiasm effects of a regular Normal but the effort level of a regular Crunch Time.

That's correct. There will be more than one frustrated manager after the first playoff round...

I don't see what the problem is. If someone expected TIE and CT to be completely removed from the playoffs -- this is not going to happen.

That's not at all what worries me.

What worries me is that a few (perhaps a lot) users will be confused and will not understand or miss the difference between playoff CT and CT. This people will typically be those that are least engaged in the game today, i.e. there interest for the game is extra vulnarable for "hits".

You can't really hurt yourself with PO CT and PO Normal.

Well as you compete against another team you can if you take a malinformed decision, but this has already been discussed here: (38954.1)

In terms of in-game performance, you're going to get exactly what you can expect from the tactic. If you wanted to make a strategic decision and chose one of the tactics without knowing exactly what it does, well, RTFM

RTFM is a good way to take an informed decision (therefore I read it). However, RTFM is not the best solution if BB want the game to grow as I am sure they want. Things should be as intuitive as possible in order to atract and keep as many users as possible. Changing a concept in mid season is not intuitive.

This is especially important for those that are playing the game in a foreign language (e.g. swedes using english) as not master english.

I get your point, and I agree it never hurts to make things as uncontroversial as possible.

On the other hand, renaming them can also be counterproductive by adding unnecessary complications in terms. After all, as far as in-game effects are concerned, these two tactics work exactly as CT and Normal, so I see little why they would keep the names.
