ok, I'm probably comparing it to real drafts too much. I think normally everyone knows there is this guy playing (insert position) but has no idea if he is anthing useful. But then I think they would probably know position rather than height. position is only estimated, it is sometimes way of the ideal position in team system but nobody knows heights until official measurements. And heigh is getting more guidance than position (rumours about 7'2 point guards and such - height is more important informaton of BB trainees than estimated position is). But if a prospect is scouted fully than I agree.

I realize there could be some sharing - but i don't think it would help too much. If they scouted enough players they are recognizable by box score results so no big deal for me.

No, they are not.

Each box score is randomized.

A CT? Really?
Any two will do
Any three for me
Any four will score
Any five are live

Just an aside:

In the NBA draft, you don't necessarily know the true position of someone. For example, many guys who will be PFs in the NBA play C on their college teams simply because they're so much bigger than everyone else. Playing out of position can conceal some of the useful skills of the player.

aside2:

So many players get extra cm in their teams, that you better look yourself how big he is ... Sometimes this failures goes uo to 10 cm in my feeling.

Another big big concern about scouts that I have is : why O why do they scout twice so many bad players ? Why would they decide to scout twice a player they rated one or two star the first time around ? And leave you in the dark regarding the 5 star players ?

This is the second season in a row that I get a wealth of details about crappy players, like if knowing just how bad they really are is useful to me, whereas I get a list of 8 to 10 five star players that the scouts won't bother to judge twice.

I get it that making a game based on real basketball doesn't mean that every rule and mechanic in the game has to reflect how things go in real life, but something like scouting twice 15 bad players and passing on the 5 star dudes shouldn't be possible.

My suggestion here is, scouts shouldn't examine twice players that they rated less than 3 stars the first time.

many they have denied the request to make an test training at your arena cause everybody wants to see then ;)

Maybe the other guys come direct to such training, and the one Scout point scouting is that they viewed a game from them.

Or it is just master random, else it won't make sense to pay 40k in the draft ... Cause you get nearly all relevant infos with lower cost.

That's one way. But I woudn't be staisfied with that answer and fire all of them.

So last time I asked this question to my scouts they told me this:

"we are very sorry sir, but it seems that we are unlucky year after year. Every time the first few players we scout seem to be of the same quality, so we invite a few to get more info on them. Then later on some better players come around, so we stop scouting the lesser for the second time, but scout some of those better a few times. Then even better seem to show, but by that time we are out of time, so the ones we can see twice are limited by that time. Then, you get all the info at once, and it seems like we are dumb, but we realy can't help it."

So I decided to keep my scouts, since they have shown me they are doing their job...

They are not your friends; they dispise you. I am the only one you can count on. Trust me.

Another question about blind scouts and scouting tactics, I dont know too many scouts that go out and there and just scout whoever and report. I agree that we dont necessarily need to see exact heights and a rough estimate would do.

Say I train outside/SF. Why would I be scouting centers/PF? Wouldnt it be more useful to the scout and the team that partway through the season say...allstar break the scout comes back and gives a midseason report saying I scouted 4 centers, 8 PF 10 PG 9SG etc etc.

Then you have the choice to create a recruiting pool and so ok go back out and scout these players and choose say 10 before you hit the rest. Those would get the first invites back to the practice facility, the in depth information. This year I was scouting 3 players a week, and got lots of information on guards that im not really going to train or use, if I get one he will go on the market so I can have money for an established guard or a blue chip rookie.
