When you look at a team's transfers, you see the adjusted price. This considers any TL fees and taxes on players you havent had long enough etc. If you sell a player for 1000$ but only recieve 85% of this because of transfer fees, it will show 850$ on the players transfer history.

I'm almost sure this isn't true.

The transferhistory lists the price that was paid for the player.

No.

Every time a bid is made in the last three minutes before bidding ends the transfer time is extended three minutes, so theoretically you have infinite bidding.

indeed, and that means that if you have a few guys wanting to grab the player for just 1 dollar extra, they are probably spending hours. Which ofcourse is their own fault.
It gets nastier when a serious guy does bid a decent amount, and then every time the other guy goes up by 1...

1 is so small a number that one could say that by raising with 1, you actually are paying the same price.

example:
I bid 100000 on a player, Jack thinks, hey I want him for 100k to, so bids 100001. I say, okay, then I bid 110000, so Jack says, if you want him for 110k, so do I, so I bid 110001. Then I say okay, I bid 120000, so he says, hey I can do that, and bids 120001. this goes on until I bid 1000000, and still Jack says, okay, if you want him for 1M, then I want him for that price too, I bid 1000001.
This means that you will actually have to bid OVER the price you want to pay, to prevent Jack from buying him for the price you wanted him. Say the max you want to pay was 1100000, and Jack bids 1100001, he virtually has the player at the amount you would have wanted him for, and you'll have to bid for example 1110000 (an amount you wouldn't have wanted to give for the player) in order to get Jack to bid 1 more, and then leave him to Jack, but if Jack then suddenly says, hey, I don't want him for that amount, you are screwed.

So that is why bids need to be raised by some amount. To make sure every other bid actually is worth something more.

Hope this helps.

That assumes both players are logged on at the deadline to ensure they get the player. I would assume no one is that enveloped into the game to do that.

It's a common occurence.

In the grander scheme of things, for most the bigger teams $1000 is nothing. Since I am rather new, since my team is small, with fewer resources, I would love to be able to buy a trainee for under $1000. Perhaps it should be noted that the min you can list is $1000. There are a lot of players on the TL that have a starting price under $1000.

The people who list players for 1$ also know (usually) the lowest bid is 1k$, but perhaps they are trying to pique your interest with the tag. Best to approach the TL with a 1000$ increment mindset, imo.

As a new player just completing his first season, I would like to offer a little 'noob to noob' advice. Go a little bigger on trainees than 1$. The players you could get for under 1000$ will not be as good of trainees as you should aim for. I got a couple bargains for under 10k$, but the best trainees I have cost a little more because of thier skills away from my training intentions. The better they are when you get them (youngsters), the better they will be when they flourish.

See, it would be the serious player's fault for not having a limit to how much he would pay for the player.
Although, if the serious player REALLY wants him, then (as I said in my last post to JuicePats) he could wait until near the deadline and bid $1 above and he'll have the player.

Look, I will reply for a last time now.

Even if you would know how much you want to pay for the player, an other user can bid (virtually) the same amount and take the player away from you. for instance you want to spend 100k max, so bid 100000, the the other one bids 100001 and hasn't actually payd more then you (1 dollar REALY is nothing in this game, for NO team) and still has the player...

No you can't wait until right before the deadline, bid 1 more and have him... if you bid 1 more; another 3 minutes will be added to the bidding time, so everyone still has 3 minutes to bid 1 more, where will this end.
Besides, IF we asume the deadline is strict and not extended, what makes you think you have more rights then the player bidding first to get the player? That you REALY want him? What makes you think the other user doesn't ?!?

This is about all I have to add to this.
You asked a question (why is it?) I answered. You don't have to like it, but I don't think you will ever find any auctionsystem, in any world, virtually or real, that works the way you want it. So what more can I say?
