no this was just a change with the new stafff system, the effect is small but should be there.

But it stay more efficient to have the doctor while the player get injured.

Thanks for the responses, but not what I was looking for. Do injuries heal only after a game is played, or do they heal after a daily update?

My question was answered, his injury was healed after last night's daily update. Yay!

what about frequency of injuries. Would a team with a higher level doctor have less injuries than a team with a lower level doctor

during the match he will have the same amount off injury, but most of them will be healed after the match or will have a shorter estimated time to heal.

After this is the doctor increases the speed which the player need to get healed, but this effect is very small in comparision to the above one.
