POWER RANKINGS
1. Toronto Traptors, 22.566.
Despite a loss to the physically imposing men of Natellio, the Traptors are out of harms way until the playoffs. They would have to lose the next three games to lose the #1 seed. They are the heavy favorites to promote.
2. Chicken Hawks, 15.219
They've really had a good season, and I know they weren't planning on it. Brining in another stud big man will make things interesting with the Traptors. We'll see if either team has any plans for further acquisitions before the deadline.
3. East Gary Eagles, 9.182
Lakey is nipping at their heals after a great finish to the season. The Eagles have the PD advantage though, and the easier schedule to close. I expect them to hang on to homecourt, but I'm not sure they have the players to overtake the Traptors or the Hawks.
4. The Door Mats, 7.725
A little higher for these guys than I would have guessed, but they are always "overacheiving." I suppose I should be used to it. Someday I'd love to know how this team can compete so well with such a low salary.
5. CA Foreigners, 7.596
These guys have been putting up killer ratings recently, notably a 8.0 rating against me, and an 8.33 rating against the Cow Lickers. I'm not entirely sure we've seen all that they're capable of in terms of wins. Not a team I'd want to go against in round 1 of the playoffs.
6. Lake Charles Creoles, 7.464
They top the massive jumble in the middle of the Big 8 because of a superior PD. Tough schedule to close out, finishing at Eclypze, and then the Traptors at home. What is currently 4th place could turn into 6th in a hurry.
7. Cow Lickers, 7.268
They have a firm graps on 5th place, up a game with a huge PD advantage with only 3 games left. They should be safe from a relegation series, which is good because the teams from the Big 8 are looking strong at the bottom right now (except maybe Extra Crispy...).
8. Eclypze, 5.335
Third place in the tougher conference comes in at 8th. That's primarily based on low team ratings, but we all know that this team is capable of good things. Eugene Smith is basically unguardable. Should be a battle in the 2-3 game in the playoffs.

9. lakey, 5.351
Here they are! They have a similar issue to Eclypze on the team ratings, but are also suffering from a big effort disadvantage. They have only played on lower effort once all season, and that was the first game. They're getting wins, but we'll see how important enthusiasm really is come playoff time.
10. Thunderhorse, 4.721
On the other side of the coin, Thunderhorse continues to have teams put more effort into the game than he is. He has played on lower effort 7 out of the 9 games, and is yet to play with more effort than his opposition. This should come in handy, as he will likely being playing in a relegation series without home court advantage.
11. Natellio, 3.352
Hello! The rebuilding is almost complete, and I'm fighting to stay out of a relegation series. The walkover tie breaker is a huge issue though, so nabbing 4th or 5th will be tough. Good news, my team's IS ratings have been better than prominent the last two games.
12. Demon Hoosiers, 0.315
In good position in 5th right now, but basically has no way to catch up to Lake Charles in PD. The last game at against Natellio could go a long way in figuring out the playoff picture.
13. Bushrods, -4.677
It's looking like a Thunderhorse vs. Bushrods relegation series right now, which should be interesting. Homecourt should help, so he really needs to make sure he hangs on to that 6th spot. 5th place is possible, but the PD is a big issue.
14. The Veggies, -4.969
A relegation series of some sort is going to happen here, and unless he gets a couple new guys I'm not sure he's got the horses to stay in the league. Coming in 6th place will help that though.
15. Cathar Heretics, -33.972
On one hand I hate to see you go, but on the other I'm glad we don't have to deal with Gilbert.
16. Extra Crispy, -51.568
Another great manager voluntarily exiting. Enjoy that #1 pick!

They've really had a good season, and I know they weren't planning on it. Brining in another stud big man will make things interesting with the Traptors. We'll see if either team has any plans for further acquisitions before the deadline.

I know it looks like I am going for the promotion, but on my weekly tour through the Free Agents I found this 25 year old center that was not bid on, and he has pretty good skills. I placed a bid early in the day, and didn't know I won the bid until the next morning. Sometimes you just gotta be lucky. I might look to see what I can get for him on the TL in a few weeks when the transfer tax goes down.

So the addition makes my team better, and I am going to try and win, but I'm not planning on it. HCA for Traptors will decide it easily for our match up. Plus I think I need another season of training until my trainees can be useful in D2.

Good luck to everyone down the stretch...

Now it's interesting.

Ha. Thanks! It's actually kind of what I wanted. It was a risk, because if Lake Charles would have beaten the Traptors I'd be in a relegation series. But this gives me some time to get some out of position training weeks and some easy economics weeks as well.

Good luck in round 1!

I gotta admit, I was pretty surprised you TIEd that game when neither of us have much chance in the playoffs. It'll take more than luck for me to get out of round 1 - it'll take a complete disaster for Toronto.

I went with TIE because I was ok with the loss. A win would assure my 4th, but I wasn't confident I could even with a normal. And a loss with a Lake Charles win would put me in a relegation series. I didn't care about 4th place, so I played it safe and went with TIE so that even if the worst should happen, I'd bring more enthusiasm into the relegation series.

And I didn't really care about 4th because there was virtually no chance to win. I'm ready for the Traptors to be gone and not be my rival anymore.

That does make sense.
