Has it been definitively established that an expenditure of $5000 = 1 scouting point, so that spending $20K per week = 4 points and spending $40K per week = 8 points? I've looked for confirmation of the price per point but haven't found it. Have the BBs told us, or is the system too new for anyone to know?

The section where you select the amount of scouting should be updated to say u get scouting points instead of scouting players.

ie. 3 points/week ($20,000/week)

have i mentioned before what a crapshoot this new system is

the very top player on my list, the one my scouts said was the best guy in the draft, the future lebron, when scouted turned out to be a 1 ball player

likewise when i did the group demonstration half the players my scout said were 1 or 2 ball were actually 4 or 5 ball

the initial order seems to be 100% worthless and does not mean a thing

if bots and inactive teams are using this as the basis of their picks then they are still picking at random

the one big improvement - and it is big - is seeing the height, no more 6'9" sgs for me

True, the initial list is crap.

But I really like the new system.
I think you have enough control about who you actually scout now.

If I had thought before acting I would've done something differently and probably a bit more efficient but at least I know that for next season.

We have both said a lot of things that you are going to regret.

i still think the new system has to be better than the old one and here is why

well i think i can proudly say that i never got a really good draft pick no matter where i picked, i am just waiting for that one season when i actually get a short guard with decent potential that i can train long term

my picks have been
s12 spent 10k a week all season - bad investment should have picked blind
Eddie Nixon 18 4k sal superstar potential...sounds great? a 6'9" guard with bad outside def and all bad inside skills he is for sale now and he has had 3 pops the entire season, so much for his potential, sold 200k
Evan Halatau 18 6'3' but 3k and starter potential pitiful js- sold 10k
Andreas Czybulka-Schwenold 18 6'7" roleplayer 2.5k sal sacked

s11 spent 20k all season horrid loss
Perry Hardman 18 6'6" star 4.5k probably my best draft pick ever but only one respectable and that was rebounds and too many atrocious, too tall, too low potential - sold 200k
Ric De Bartolo 19 6'10" sf star potential 4k salary may seem ok but his stats were so messed up i couldnt even sell him and sacked
Tamra Gupta 2k benchwarmer - sacked

s10 (first season) spent 20k all season broke even but spending on arena would have been much better
Xiong Tiande 19 yo 3k 6'9" C with inept ID but HOF potential, sold 400k -he still has a 4k salary, so much for the potential
Gao Fazhan 19 2.5k 6'8"allstar - sacked
He Qunhao 2.5k bench warmer - sacked

this is why i think the old draft sucks and i hope that at least i will be able to get a short guard this season

Just curiosity, thanks.

haha should do, however might be easier for GM-Rip to change it for now if he gets a chance.

As for the answer to this question:
The bots will be choosing according to the baseline rankings.
Note however that the baseline rankings are different for every team, so you shouldn't avoid scouting the first player on your list thinking the bot will get that player.
Also, note that the baseline rankings are wildly inaccurate, and so a 5 ball baseline ranking could be a 1 ball player, so essentially the bots are picking "randomly".

Thanks Naker, there are no bots in my league but i´m pretty sure i´ve read somewhere that actually bot teams aren´t going to pick randonmly anymore and your explanation it´s ok.
Best regards.

Bot teams will pick based on the word on the street, which is said to be better information than pure random. However, I haven't seen any proof that it really is better than random.

Summary:
- Each team gets a different word-on-the-street evaluation
- Bots pick based on this evaluation
