There must be more to this rule, because almost every week I buy a 1000$ scrub to fill out a scrim roster, and then fire him right after. Sometimes the purchase and the firing is the same day. He has to play or I cant fire him but I've never had to keep him a week.

Honestly, I think a lot of it has to do with the Redstones having highly inferior players from being coachless.

However, playing French Patient isn't a new tactic either. What is really the difference between playing Outside Iso and Patient? In my mind, Patient is spreading out and passing the ball until reaching an inferior matchup and Outside Iso is spreading out trying to drive and passing when its not there. I'd really would need to see a few games with quality players on each team to say this is a solid tactic as if the Guard's inside skills are being used vs the Center too often than its a poor option. The Redstones would have lost to any tactic but with this lineup Outside Iso seemed like a safe play with some upside.

Having a couple guys in less than optimal GS while on the road didn't do me any favors. Combine that with 10th using more enthusiasm, and viola. Either way I'm not too worried, but I do want to make the playoffs.
