*Cash*ing In

The Mountain Eagles have just acquired their potential Power Forward of the future. They just signed rookie Rufus Cash to a multi-year deal, which also has some cash bonuses too. They got him for 100k. Here is the new Mountain Eagle: "Looks like I may have a future with this team. I am wanting to become the Eagles' reliable PF of the future. I hope I can do that." Here is GM tough: "Man, I wanted another guy, but he was going for too much. So then I had to tone it down a bit. Here is what I got. Pretty good guy for a Big Man. He knows how to pass, play Defense outside, and then Shoots well inside. Also a good rebounder and handler, not turning the ball over that much. Sorry Vasko, but you have to go."

Eagles had already put Vasko up for a trade. They're still trying to find ways to trade him out for a lump sum, that way not making that much loss on the Cash trade. From Houston, this is Derek Alston, reporting for The Eagle.

Bench Causes Win


Tonight the Mountain Eagles played the first game of the season, at Carry On Arena against the Buzzard Eaters. They played hard throughout the game, only to be lost by their bench, losing the game 108-96. Tough left the court with 1 minute left in the game, disgusted by their performance. Some reporters actually seen tough beating up his entire bench, and being so mad he made this statment: "OUR bench sucked like **** today. We ******* played ******** ball. We should've won this ****** game. Bench you are ******** fired!" That was not all of it, but just a taste. Here is SF Herbert Weinstein, "Man, I feel the pain, tough injured my jaw just now.......ow." Here is Man Muniz, another bench guy, "My mouth friggin hurts, my nose is bleeding like **** right now......man this is what we get for losing?" Ye scored 26 points with 10-15 shooting and 3-6 from three. Here he is: "Man. Very dissapointed of how the game came out. I really thought we'd win it. I guess we didn't have what it takes." Here is rookie Rufus Cash, who made his first ever debut, scoring 5 points and also got 5 boards and 5 assists on the day. "Yes. I played bad today. But all I know is that I need to get a better offensive game. I know we sucked. Our bench sucked. Our team couldn't rebound for nothing. We need to get better in our bench and how we rebound. That's all I gotta say." Here is now New Coach William Mathis: "Man, tough start to the season. Now we just need to go in and make a new drawing board. I think our team gave it our all. But hopefully we can rebound against ineverwin."

In other news, the Cash/Vasko trade finally got pushed through. Vasko ends up selling for 122k and goes to a Spanish team. Here he is rushing to get out of the Road Team locker room and going to the Airport. "Man, had a great time with the team. I wish I could've stayed longer. But I guess we gotta do what is best for the team. Goodbye Eagles, and I hope you have a better turnout this season" They're also trying to bring in another Big Man to help out with Stillfried. Where and when?

Many GMs like reading “The Eagle”. A warning should be enough.

Statement released by BBPA:

Our issue is not with the newspaper going by the title "The Eagle". Our problem lies with the motivational tactics of Mountain Eagle GM "Tough". We have recieved testimony from reliable sources stating that he has verbally and physically abused players for a long time. This is unacceptable behavior and our players will not tolerate it. It is hardly a joke.

As of tomorrow all Mountain Eagles players will be on strike until Tough either resigns or issues a full apology for his actions in regards to this. Also we would like 1 million dollars. We await your decision.

I've never seen tough this mad until now. This is the only time Ive ever seen tough be this mad. This is all true, ask Valter Vasko. I swear he never laid a hand on us, at all.This is all true.

Mr. Tough if you expect us to believe that you went from kind, loving General Manager to certified madman over the course of one night you are sorely mistaken. Coincidentally we did ask Mr. Vasko about the goings-on in the Mountain Eagle organization. We also spoke to a Mr. Nick Fritz, who, Im sure you remember, played for the Eagles up until September of this year. Both testimonies had descriptive accounts of incidents similar to the one described in your newspaper.

Fritz in particular, got quite emotional when describing an instance during season 21, when the players were forced to brand themselves with an "L" every time they lost a game.

Fritz was also kind enough to provide a picture of himself after one particularly brutal beating, which you can find here
