So wikipedia lists 13 NBA players who have died during the middle of their career's, dating back to 1975

So in 36 years, there have been 13 players die.

Most from car accidents, only two during the game.

Soooooooooo.... no this idea i dont agree with. They arent real people dammit! they are little cartoon faces and numbers in a database! If people want this game to be real, then the Nigerean national team should not be made up of white guys!
He defined it badly.
It should have been defined (as I wrote) - career ending injuries.
And this is surely something that happens from time top time.
Surely injuries that are seasons (or more) long.

There are injuries for few weeks (I saw up to 4 weeks), why not having a full season or more?
There is absolutely no reason why not doing so.

I believe the last change BB's had for injuries was: don't let injuries carry on to the next season. So that's the opposite path (restricting injuries) than this thread suggests. We don't need longer injuries and career ending injuries. 4 weeks is already more than 1/3 of a season.

I will only agree with this suggestion if someone can name me 10 players in the last 3 seasons in the NBA who a) had a careers ending injury which forced them into retirement and b) were under the age of 27.

There are injuries which are at least a season long, and surely there are injuries who affect that player skills for life.
Those are not really rare.

Age is one of the factors for this randomness "Fatal" injury as I describe it.
Of course this probability is low, but it happens.
From 50K users/teams there will be some who will suffer from it each year. As should be.

I can somehow see a point in people over a certain age having a certain possibility of carreer ending injuries, if only to limit the players playing on for forever.

So like players over 32 having a (n+1)*0,1% percentage of the next injury beeing a career ending one, with n beeing the number of overall career injuries.

Zwei Dinge sind unendlich, die Dummheit und das All...

yeah, i can see this being alright if it happens to players only over 33 or something like that, but I would be pretty pissed if my 22 yr old or something gets a career ending injury. That isn't really realistic at all
