Pursuit of Perfection

Well the first 7 games of the season are over! Time to see who the first candidates of PoP are!

4 Point Play(33264)
Coach Chamberlain had this to say,
"It was definitely an enjoyable start to the season. Although I noticed a lack of 4 Point Plays... We will get that fixed."

and their opponent within their league

Toronto Knockouts(33214)
pjaf was caught saying,
"HA! Worried about Coach Chamberlain and his boys? I have been in division II twice already! I dont lose when it comes to div III."

III.2
Montreal Aces(24874)
Manager Ploije was interviewed,
"Its all about the cards youre dealt. I happen to have gotten Aces."

Binopolis Celtics(24841)
gsabino,
"Look I will not give you some deep philosophical answer like ploije did, but I can tell you this. This is my 17th season in Buzzerbeater and I am getting a little old. I need help to poop and I cannot scratch my own ass. What am I doing here?"

III.3
The Black Guys(34024)
blackguy,
"Can I make a confession? This may come as a shock to the Buzzerbeater world, but I feel I must come clean. I am black."

III.4
Crazy Bongos(33436)
ghoupy,
"The name? Oh my cat fell on the keyboard. It made a legible name though. Oh you mean MY name?"

III.5
Super Bowl Champions Saints(24937)
Phillipe27,
"My team has yet to lose and I do not plan to lose until we are crowned Super Bowl Champions!!! Thats what the division III trophy is... right?"

"Bballin picked against my last season. He just HAD to be right. I will prove him wrong this season!"

DEVILDOGS(24840)

Oasis77,
"How does a team of Moth Balls win 7 games? Beats me."

Centennial Chargers(33267)

"This team is not just another Toronto Raptor wannabe. We actually win games."

III.12
Grant Raptor(25076)

RUMpage(33290)

"The road to success goes through Vaughan this season."

Belt Buckles(33345)

Please do not ask what question they were answering.

One note. seems picking RUMpage as One and Done champion was the right choice :D

DIVISION III.4

Does any Canadian team really know the pain of Venomizer?
Knocked out in the semifinals last season, it ended a run of 6 consecutive seasons under 3 team names in which manager VenomX lost in the league finals and watched the celebration of another promoting opponent.
Will this finally be the year?

Today, they would have to be the favourite.
Led by C Lii Zongwei, they currently have the best balanced attack in the league.

Unfortunately for Venomizer, with the promotion of the Van Cougars, the relegated Silver Palominos have dropped right down into their spot in the Big 8 and will be a problem with another strong 5 man unit and a big Center to match Zongwei in Refael Galili.
Crazy Palomino fact - The relegation ended a run in the same League II since season 2, they even played in that league final for a chance at Naismith a few short seasons ago!

For now, the league's other best team seems to have the other conference all to themselves.
Keep an eye on the Crazy Bongos, not only a finalist last season and with the league's best starting big men in Gumersind Claramunt and Alfredo Luiz Amorim but with the sale of 22 year old up and coming Canadian C Thomas Harte, the Bongs have some money to spend.

FYI: I was actually in Naismith for a season (Season 4) and then was in Div. II up until this season.

Ran into trouble last season - took a couple of chances and it got me relegated.

This season my goal is to just train my young players, then pop back up next season and challenge for Naismith again within a season or two. Without trying to be too arrogant, I don't foresee any issues promoting this year, when my only losses were with backups in the lineup. In fact, this week's loss was a 3-point loss with an entire backup lineup, most in training positions, on TIE, while resting my starting squad for the Cup game.

Still, Venomizer will be a challenge - the only team that will come close to me this year, IMO :)
