A big reason for an app is that it could bring tons of players to BB.

Lets say that this app is an apple app and BB gives 2 weeks of supporter for writing a review for the app. I'm sure at least 900 users would do so, which would give the app probably at least 500 5 stars. If you go into the top free apps right now, lots of them (in the 15s and lower) have about 1000 if they haven't been out for too long. Lots of people would see the app and be very interested with it. The only problem? Users expect to sign up and play right away but unless something has changed there is the 24 hour wait I believe.

Still, if Buzzerbeater can get into the top 75, top 50, etc, it means more users and more money for the developers. Why? More supporter is bought, they can use the annoying (but successful) popup ads that would generate revenue, with the option of an in app purchase to disable ads (supporter).

What I'm saying is that if Buzzerbeater gets the app successful, it would be a huge step for the game and the community.

I agree. My main reasoning for an app would not just be making it more user-friendly, but to add exposure. A well-done BB app could bring in a ton of users.

The newcomers would still have to read 40 pages of rules, good luck with that.

No one reads the rules lol.

I have read them all lol.

Me too, when I started. And also all the help forums ... but that really took me about 3-4 days. So yes, BB is not an "easy" game at the beginning .. but well, I guess if you have something like a guide through in the App (like the those tasks you have to do when you start the game), that would probably make it easy enough that a couple of people would stick with the game.

Didn't BB already had a ton of users? I'd say the problem is not acquiring new ones, but rather maintaining the current. While app has it's pros, don't forget about cons.

Yes, they had a ton. But advertising had too high of a cost to continue that campaign.

Yes, they need to maintain these users. But maintaining these users also wont get them very far. They almost have to take a risk to get more users.
