Very good stuff!!!!! the threads had gone quiet for a while. I know i haven't been throwing in power rankings and other fun facts. But i will. As always we are getting close to Interleague play so i always like to do an update on the MVP race, power rankings, teams to watch and more!

Bowers has always been a foul-a-matic. I only expect it to get worse as his skills continue to deteriorate until he's supplanted in the starting lineup. He'd probably have the BB record for foul-outs if I used "let them play" if in foul trouble.

And, great stuff, indeed! Thanks for taking the time to put that together!

State of the League address as we approach Interleague play (official what i like to look at as the first 1/3 of the season.) Lets have a quick recap of where we stand. I wont go into FULL power Rankings i am sure my boy Frosty will do a great job of that. But more just my views of the league.

Contenders Vs Pretenders.

First off I think there are ONLY 2 true title contenders (potential promotion guys). However in BB you are always 1 purchase, 1 injury, 1 sell, away from being a contender or going from being a contender to being a Pretender. However the Contender section will feature 3 teams......

1. Philly Phantasm...... Not only are they the top team in our league right now going into Tuesday's games. they also hold a 12 point victory WestSide Tigers who i think is another title contender. Philly has AMAZING balance as a team. First off they have 100k invested in a tremendous backcourt that are extremely unselfish and score 45 points a game between the 2 of them. In that backcourt is a former league MVP. Throw in the mix a 40k SF who brings 18PPG also. A strong interior game & a double digit bench scorer Philly has EVERYTHING you desire in a championship team. The hardest hurdle for Philly is they will have to beat WestSide prior to the making the finals!

2. Westside Tigers.... $175,000 invested in the interior play (Both AVG a double-Double over 15 PPG each & 10+ rebs) throw in a leading scorer at SF and this is the BEST FRONT COURT in our entire league. WestSide has put in the $ to be contenders and its showing. 6 double digit scorers and 1 loss ironically to the team that is league leading lets you know how serious West side is about winning a title. If healthy WestSide will be in the conference final 1 game away from the league final!

3. Baker... With all due respect to our side of this league we are going to need a little luck to come away with the overall league winner and league promotion. But if there is 1 team in the Big 8 that COULD do it and rival the 2 top dogs of the Great 8 it's Baker. As has been his staple Baker does NOT over spend on a single superstar he takes a very balanced approach not having a single guy over 55k on his team. And only 1 player who even scratches 50k. Baker is a strong manager, game strategist, and always has his team ready to play game shape wise, and enthusiasm wise. Look for Baker to win the Big8 and then press his luck against 1 of the juggernauts of the Great 8.

PRETENDERS....

1. HomeBoyz... the boyz are the only other team outside of the 3 contenders with 1 loss. However in a very weak Big8 homeboyz 4-1 record only comes with a 120 Point Dif & includes a 1 point win over BucsBlue who's in the midst of a rebuild. Boyz dont even have a player over 45k on the roster. Tonight's game for HomeBoyz will be a true telling of where this team is. ForReal or Fake? lets see after tonight.

2. BucsBlue... A former main stay in the league final THIS is NOT BucsBlue teams of old. This team is extremely vulnerable, lacks interior scoring, and are NOT close to being able to win a title this year. Bucs are 3-2 and that is strictly because they have in some opinions the single best player in the League. (Tommy Lee) on Tommy & Pana's back this team is somehow above .500 and still a playoff team but this team will NOT make the finals this year.

All other teams sitting in the playoffs or at 3-2 I would consider pretenders! however they didn't get a write up due to the fact that their Point Difs were all under 100 points. I think that that in itself is an indicator of where those teams are so far at this point in the season.

Lets not forget there is ALOT of BB season left, and injuries can deRail a team. Buying a certain player can immediately change and impact a team as well. So there's still lots that's going to happen this season. But in the opinion of III.7 sporting news. Only 3 teams can win a title and 2 of those 3 are in the Great 8.

i think you're selling diamantes short a bit. they've put together a hell of a contending roster. they could make a run.

i am not a fake, but i ain't for real yet. I am a middle of the pack team and I know it.

join the club, bud. you get to look up at the big guys and down on the little guys, just like me.

Ok let me Clear up a couple things....

First off using the word fake to describe Homeboyz was not accurate. The boyz have a legit chance to win the Big 8. I would have to make an NBA comparison like my friend Baker did... the Big 8 is clearly the Eastern Conference. I would go to say Baker would be the Hawks, Bucs would be the Cavs (Yes i am saying Tommy Lee is Lebron and my team is very similar star with no depth), and Boyz would be the Bulls, while Diamante would be the Wizards. With that said yes there are 3-4 teams that can WIN the Big 8. So you can say those teams are conference contenders.

However the point of the write up was promotion Contenders... and i just dont see the Big 8 having enough to beat either Philly OR WestSide. Part of my feeling for this is that i dont believe that my team (BucsBlue) is that good this season at all. however i find myself as a 2 loss team and in 2nd place in the big 8 with 1 loss being by 1 point in the first game when you have no game shape or enthusiasm. My team could be a 1 loss Big 8 team and i look at upcoming interleague play and maybe see 4 wins if i am LUCKY!

I hope the Big 8 makes a splash purchase or someting because its bad how we are very second fiddle this season. I know i wont be. Its a training and rebuilding reFinancing year for Bucs. Maybe next year or the year after we will have a chance. Sorry for the confusion on Contenders and Pretenders didn't mean any disrespect to my Big 8 rivals.
