Tough call really seeing that you're top in your league and will get last pick :(

I'm in a semi similar situation (except I'm not quite top :) ), and decided to go 40k a week and gamble for a nice draft pick!

But my conference has quite a few inactive managers, while yours only has two.

Feeling lucky? Jist of it ;P

If you're training big men you could look at drafting one of those tall PGs and train their inside skills. That way you would have a more balanced SF/PF in 2-3 seasons. Its a decent option especially if want to train your draftee and not sell him.

Personally I'd give it a go by spending the 40k just for the heck of it because I love the new draft system.

from what i have seen the word of mouth ratings are close to worthless

the very top guy in my draft the sure fire 5 star guy was a 1 star once properly scouted

To be honest, I would rather that there were no baseline rankings provided.
I had 4 players that were 18 years old that had a 5 star baseline ranking. I scouted them all once and they were 1 star, 2 star, 2 star, and 3 star. Useless.

Hello guys, I have a question regarding the way I should set my draft. I've found a 5 star guy but with only 2 balls at potential who is 18 years old and another 5 star guy with 5 balls potential but who is 19 years old, both of them having A grade. Who should I set higher in my draft order?

personally I'd go with

5 star guy with 5 balls potential but who is 19 years old

not much point having an 18 year old with 2 potential.

Definitely the 5 star guy with 5 star potential should go first.

how the hell do you get to see anyones potential?

i have been 10k the whole year and havent had enough scouting points to look at a single guys potential

seeing as the base rankings are totally worthless i have had to scout every 18 year old to see what their real star rating is and next i will probably start on the 19 year olds that are the right height

you realise every interview is costing you at least $10,000

this new system, knowing the height is awesome, the rest seems no better than the old one

Will unused scouting points transfer over to following seasons?

Was that directed at me? I spent 40k for the first few weeks, and 40k the last few weeks. So plenty of points.
