A lot of you have been around so long and learned to navigate the forums so well that you don't see the difficulties. I feel for the new managers trying to find their way around in the forums.

Check unread and sticky aren't out of the way for people who have been on forums elsewhere on Internet.

Okay ... I have been on the forums elsewhere, so do I get to know where the "Check Unread" and "Sticky" are at?

If you mean on BB, "Check unread" is right under "New thread" under the thread list. As "Sticky", it's the thread important to read that are in red at the top of each forum, not knowing the name is not important, what's important is where they are placed.

If the users are thick ...
Ooookay, now we're narrowing it down. I see what you mean by "sticky," no problem there.

As for "Check unread" ... well, it is still a little elusive. I do see this ...

"New thread
Mark all as read
Remove from favorites
Search this Folder (Supporter Feature)"

... so it must be somewhere in that area. Care to offer another clue?

See why I think the forums might stress a newcomer?

I'll ignore your "thick" insult.

If you got replies to posts you made it will be shown at the top of the forum preview. It will say "3 new replies" or something like that and after that you got the link in question.
Yes, I've figured that out. Thank you.
I'll stick with the fact that newcomers do also have to be proactive to learn the game.
I totally agree with that. The same is true of the forums. Help in both areas is important, though. I don't believe you learn to swim by being thrown in the deep end unprepared and unaided. That's how you learn to drown.
