Yep thats BB, congrats to Morocco, that was a big upset and they nailed the tactics.

I actually don't think it complicates things that much, since only wins vs other advancing teams carry over to round 2. Frustrating, but unlikely to change our outcome that much, our upcoming games vs Spain and Poland are more important. Still seems like Canada vs China will be the game that will be most crucial. Poland looks very strong, especially defensively, and HCA is quite a boost.

Thought I might as well get the results over with earlier :P

Americas U21 Continentals

Pool C:
Panama 74 at Argentina 94
This game was actually a pretty good game. Panama put up some real good ratings and ratingswise I thought it could have been closer, oh well! Argentina had some really good ratings with their motion offense and continue to look dangerous. It was only a 4 point game heading into the 4th quarter but then Argentina blew it open. POTG: Gerasim Varakyan had 16 points on 8-8 shooting, 9 rebounds and a 14.5 rating.

Ecuador 62 at Chile 104
Chile's Look Inside offense absolutely overpowered Ecuador in this one. Chile also played a 3-2 zone against Ecuador's Outside Isolation and did not let Ecuador score 20 points or more in any quarter. Chile also had 28 more rebounds then Ecuador did even though they played 3-2. POTG: Ruben Rodriguez had a game high 22 points, a game high 12 rebounds and a game high 16.5 rating.

Jamaica 110 at Guatemala 144
Once again a game that looks like it should've been closer although Jamaica doesn't have very high enthusiasm heading into this one I don't believe. Guatemala was able to score 30+ points in each quarter very effective offense in this one. POTG: Walter Castro had a triple double in this one consisting of 18 points, 10 rebounds and a game high 10 assists to go with his 9.5 rating.

Pool B:
Paraguay 81 at United States 126
United States was able to easily dispose of Paraguay in this game and managed to score 76 points in the seond half and 42 points in the 3rd quarter alone! United States was just the stronger team and got scoring from everyone! POTG: Lloyd Suarez had 21 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds and a game high 15.5 rating.

Colombia 82 at Brasil 100
Both teams had some great ratings, but it was clear that Brasil is just that much better than Colombia. Colombia really needs to work on their shooting guards who went a combined 0-13 in this one :O. The first quarter really just put the game to bed early as it was 25-9 in Brasil's favour. POTG: Danilo Martinello had a game high 27 points, a team high 13 rebounds and a game high 16.0 rating.

Bolivia 96 at Puerto Rico 73
Bolivia saw their oppurtuniy to pick up a win(which is key for ranking purrposes) and CTd Puerto Rico in this one, obviously Puerto Rico did not see it coming as they TIEd. Bolivias ratings for a team that crunched were extremely bad, but they are a work in progress as their manager said and hopefully will become more competitive in the future... the far future... POTG: Elias Quisbert had a game high 22 points and an 8.5 rating.

Pool A:
Costa Rica 75 at Peru 101
Costa Rica used extra effort to try and snatch a game from Peru... mission failed. Peru's HCA is really coming in handy although they would've won this game without it. Peru still had some impressive ratings even with factoring in HCA. POTG: Carlos Alberto Patino had 18 points and a game high 17 rebounds along with a 15.0 rating.

Uruguay 77 at Canada 82
This game was crucial in placing of the pool and it also let the teams see where they match up against each other. Canada was able to come out on top in a close battle that saw both teams put up some good ratings. Definetly a defensive matchup as both teams each had 3 double digit scorers, not very good for the U21 level, but hey whatever you gotta do to win. POTG: David Castro had 13 points, 10 rebounds and a 12.5 rating.

Bahamas 112 at Barbados 84
There is honestly nothing I can say about this game... Bahamas won. POTG: uhhhh Lawrence Kendall with 20 points, 14 rebounds and a 7.5 rating.

World Cup

Pool A:

Results:

Chile 123 at Misr 87
Misr put more effort into this game, however it really did not help as Chile was still able to dominate this game. Chile's motion offense was extremely effective against the weaker Misr team. Chile dominated the rrebounds and had much more assists then Misr and it really helped. POTG: Odol Rouse had 20 points, 9 rebounds and a 17.5 rating.

Philippines 97 at Australia 109
Both teams played Look Inside, Australia was just better this weak as both teams also played at the same effort level. The Philippines 16 turnovers really hurt them in this game and Australia was able to take advantage of those mistakes. POTG: Rudolph Radford had 23 points, a team high 11 rebounds and a game high 17.5 rating.

Uruguay 118 at Italia 127
Uruguay had some very very good ratings in this one, but in the end they were not enough to beat the strong Italia team. I think that with a bit more luck Uruguay could have won this one and they were in the lead at half. Uruguay had more rebounds and more assists. The biggest difference was that Italia had 10 3 pointers while Uruguay had one three pointer. So both teams had the same amount of field goals made, Italia's were just worth more. POTG: Leonardo Biondi had a game high 30 points, a game high 8 assists and a game high 19.0 rating.

1.Chile(2) 3-0 372 297
2.Italia(1) 3-0 394 364
3.Uruguay(3) 1-2 352 359
4.Australia(5) 1-2 340 355
5.Misr(6) 1-2 307 350
6.Philippines(4) 0-3 315 355

Picks:
Uruguay(10) at Philippines(16)
Both teams really need a win in this game, Philippines more than Uruguay though. In my mind, Philippines is a lost cause as they have terrible GS issues with their big men which are the strength of the team. Uruguay has talent everywhere and a good GS update. My pick: Uruguay wins their 2nd game and put themselves in good position to advance.

Misr(32) at Australia(11)
Both teams need one win and this is Misr's best chance to win that game. Australia has a talent advantage all over the court, but their GS update was only decent. Misr had a pretty good GS update, but have much weaker talent. My pick: Misr crunches recognizing this is their one chance, but they come up just short and Australia sneakes away with the win.

Italia(4) at Chile(1)
It is the big matchup for first, these teams are two of the strongest teams in Buzzerbeater and both have amazing GS right now. This game is extemely hard to pick. My pick: Both TIE and Chile sneaks out a close win.

World Cup

Pool B:

Results:

United States 107 at Al Maghrib 109
This game was absolutely shocking, no one saw this coming. Al Maghrib crunhed and that was honestly the only reason they won as they put up ratings that a U21 team would put up. United States played a 3-2 against Al Maghrib's Look Inside and that was a factor in this one. Still this game was stunning, but I don't think it makes much of a difference in the pool and United States will still advance while Al Maghrib will still not advance. POTG: Yazid Bin-Ameen had a team high 19 points, a team high 9 rebounds and a 14.0 rating.

Poland 111 at China 89
China had some fantasti ratings in this game and it is rather odd that they have not won a game with ratings like that. Poland was able to win easily for the third time and had some unbelievable ratings with their HCA. Poland had 13 more OR, 27 more REB, and 14 more Assists in this game. POTG: Jerzy Wisnieski had a team high 25 points, a game high 14 rebounds and a game high 21.5 rating. yes, 21.5.

Canada 113 at Espana 126
This game was fairly close and it was only a 4point game heading into the 4th, but then Espana dropped 45 points and was able to win this game. Canada had some good ratings for their motion offense, but not as good as China's. Espana had some amazing ratings for their Look Inside offense and look like contenders for the World Cup right now. In all the commotion the reason that Canada stayed close in this one is because of Ed Matthews who was in beast mode. 48 points, 21-39 FG, 6-15 3FG and a 19.5 rating really kept Canada in the game. POTG: besides Ed Matthews it was Lluis Montolio who had a team high 33 points, 9 rebounds and an 18.0 rating.

1.Poland(1) 3-0 416 338
2.España(2) 2-1 343 322
3.United States(4) 2-1 349 329
4.Canada(5) 1-2 337 360
5.Al Maghrib(6) 1-2 354 402
6.China(3) 0-3 284 332

Picks:

Al Maghrib(45) at China(3)
Al Maghrib has terrible GS, China's isn't muh better, but China has much more talent and are desperately in need of a win. Al Maghrib should realize that this is their only legitimate shot at getting a win and advancing. My pick: Al Maghrib crunches and China TIEs, but China still wins.

Espana(6) at United States(7)
Espana is the stronger team in my mind, but United States is right there with them, GS wise I think Espana had a weaker GS update and United States GS update has their roster at its best possible potential. My pick: United States wins with more effort.

Canada(9) at Poland(5)
Poland had a not so great GS update this weak and Canada's wasn't bad but it wasn't the best one they've had. Poland has more talent inside while I think Canada is stronger outside. Poland has HCA however which helps alot. My pick: same effort level and Poland comes out on top.

Americas U21 Continentals

Pool C:

1.Chile U21(1) 4-0 433 243
2.Argentina U21(2) 4-0 435 297
3.Panama U21(3) 3-1 375 327
4.Ecuador U21(4) 3-1 342 334
5.Guatemala U21(6) 1-4 404 531
6.Rep. Dominicana(7) U21 0-4 258 378
7.Jamaica U21(5) 0-5 459 596

Picks:

Rep. Dominicana(85) at Jamaica(97)
Rep. Dominicana still has an outside shot at advancing to the next round, but they would need a win here. GS wise both teams seem pretty equal, however Jamaica has a slight advantage while Rep. Dominicana has a definite advantage on the outside. My pick: Jamaica wins by using more effort.

Argentina(10) at Ecuador(49)
Argentina has a definite talent advantage in this game, Ecuador has a better gameshape situation however. Neither team really needs this win, but I think Ecuador would like to get their final win out of the way. My pick: Argentina wins on equal effort.

Chile(17) at Panama(44)
Chile has a stronger team then Panama and a better gameshape situation then they do. Once again neither team really needs the win, it would just help them out in placing. My pick: Chile wins on equal effort.

Americas U21 Continentals

Pool B:

1.United States U21(3) 4-0 498 340
2.Brasil U21(1) 4-0 459 311
3.Colombia U21(2) 3-1 431 328
4.Paraguay U21(5) 2-2 402 411
5.México U21(4) 1-3 326 401
6.Bolivia U21(7) 1-4 405 576
7.Puerto Rico U21(6) 0-5 439 593

Mexico(72) at Bolivia(98)
Mexico is much stronger then Bolivia, plus Bolivia is coming off a crunch. Mexico also has great gameshape this week. Nothing went right for Bolivia this week. My pick: Mexico wins easily.

Brasil(18) at Paraguay(69)
Paraguay has a good inside attack and it is what carries them through their victories. This week though Brasil also has a fairly good inside presence along with a lot of good outside scorers, big mismatch for Paraguay. My pick: Brasil wins this one and Paraguay uses more effort.

United States(5) at Colombia(35)
This will be a good game, Colombia has the best outside player, USA has more depth on the outside. Colombia has the two best inside players, USA has more depth. Gameshape wise these teams are similiar, so what do you go for? Depth or Talent? Well i think USA has both, its just that Colombia has a couple of really good players, but then not much else. My pick: USA wins this one and Colombia will probably have to win their final game.

Americas U21 Continentals

Pool A:

1.Peru U21(3) 4-0 427 237
2.Canada U21(1) 4-0 402 256
3.Uruguay U21(2) 3-1 433 278
4.Costa Rica U21(5) 2-2 382 393
5.Venezuela U21(4) 1-3 378 360
6.Bahamas U21(7) 1-4 344 549
7.Barbados U21(6) 0-5 303 596

Venezuela(68) at Bahamas(94)
Bahamas is coming off their big victory over Barbados, however they are so much worse then all of the other teams, that this game should be fairly simple for Venezuela. My pick: Venezuela wins easily.

Canada(19) at Costa Rica(70)
Canada had a stellar GS update(with the exception of one William Rivas) and while Costa Rica didn't really have a bad GS update, its just that Canada is so much stronger than they are. My pick: Canada improves to 5-0.

Peru(28) at Uruguay(26)
Peru and Uruguay both had fairly good GS updates this week, Uruguay is stronger on the outside while Peru is a bit stronger down low. Peru also has HCA, Peru is forced to go inside this week, while Uruguay has some more flexibility. My pick: equal effort and Uruguay wins with a slight edge.

Americas U21 Continentals

Pool C:

Results:

Argentina 104 at Ecuador 55
Argentina really crushed Ecuador in this game, defensively Argentina were very strong and Ecuador was just not good enough offensively. Argentina looked strong, but not like some of the best teams, they should contend however. Ecuador has already clinched a spot in the next round so this loss does not effect them too much. POTG: Gerasim Varakyan with a game high 22 points, 11 rebounds and a 14.5 rating.

Chile 94 at Panama 69
Well Panama tried winning without using extra effort and it did not work, although they probably made the right decision. Chile had some pretty good ratings in this one and Panama actually had some good ones as well playing a motion offense. Chile was actually losing after the first quarter but after they took control. Chile had 21 more revouds then Panama had. POTG: Manuel Irarrazaval had a game high 19 points, a game high 17 rebounds and a 15.0 rating.

Rep. Dominicana 111 at Jamaica 123
Jamaica had a very effective offense going as they were able to score 30 points or more in every quarter. Their defense could use a little work, but hey they are an up and coming team. Rep. Dominicana lost again and their chances at advancing are now gone sadly. POTG: Laurent Gorman had a team high 25 points, a team high 14 rebounds and a game high 11.5 rating. Ian Bache also had 20 assists for Jamaica.

1.Chile U21(1) 5-0 527 312
2.Argentina U21(2) 5-0 539 352
3.Panama U21(3) 3-2 444 421
4.Ecuador U21(4) 3-2 397 438
5.Guatemala U21(6) 1-4 404 531
6.Jamaica U21(5) 1-5 582 707
7.Rep. Dominicana U21(7) 0-5 369 501

Picks:
Guatemala(87) at Rep. Dominicana(90)
Both teams have pretty bad GS, although I think Guatemala has worse GS and to be honest this game is only for ranking purposes. With that said, I think that Rep. Dominicana has a decent amount of enthusiasm and could be looking at a normal or CT for this game. My pick: Rep. Dominicana wins with extra effort.

Panama(50) at Ecuador(47)
Frankly this game although the rankings in the americas continentals and the world rankings suggest that this should be a close game I think that this is an easy choice. Panama is much stronger and has a much better GS situation. My pick: Panama wins easily.

Chile(17) at Argentina(10)
These two teams are fairly simliar in my mind. Both teams have already advanced and I do not think that 1st or 2nd is going to matter too much as the 2nd round groups are shaping up to be fairly similiar. I think GS wise Argentina is going to have to go with an outside offense and Chile has GS that allows them to go either way in my opinion. My pick: Chile wins this one with an inside offense in a TIE vs TIE game.

Americas U21 Continentals

Pool B:

Results:

United States 84 at Colombia 60
Well United States won this one fairly easily in what I thought would be a much closer game. Colobia surprised me by going with a motion offense. It did not work as they never put up at least 20 points in a quarter and went an abismal 21-88 from the field in this one. POTG: Jim Munoz had 14 points, a game high 16 rebounds and a 13.0 rating.

Brasil 87 at Paraguay 54
Paraguay used more effort and it really did not work. They went with their strength and played an inside offense, they got good ratings, but still got dominated and had an ineffective offense shooting 18-76 from the field. POTG: Nilo Bom Tempo had a team high 19 points, 7 rebounds, and a 12.0 rating.

Mexico 133 at Bolivia 88
Mexico had a very good game offensively and were extremely effective with their Look Inside offense and really beat down on Bolivia. They scored at least 22 points every quarter and held Bolivia to less than 2o every quarter until the fourth where Bolivia erupted for 32 however Mexico countered with a 43 point quarter. POTG: Santiago Aub had a team high 34 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists, and a 13.0 rating in this one as MExico was the only team to score more than 100 points in this pool.

1.United States U21(3) 5-0 582 400
2.Brasil U21(1) 5-0 546 365
3.Colombia U21(2) 3-2 491 412
4.México U21(4) 2-3 459 489
5.Paraguay U21(5) 2-3 456 498
6.Bolivia U21(7) 1-5 493 709
7.Puerto Rico U21(6) 0-5 439 593

Picks:

Puerto Rico(88) at Mexico(70)
I think Mexico is the stronger team here and they are the team that needs the win. If Mexico wins this game and Paraguay loses then theyll advance to the next round. If Mexico and Paraguay both win, it comes down to point differential, same if they both lose, so they do have some leeway as they have a better point differential currently. Puerto Rico has a pretty solid GS situation right now and look probably as good as they have been all tournament long. My pick: Mexico wins holding off Puerto Ricos extra effort.

Paraguay(72) at Colombia(39)
Colombia is the stronger team, however Paraguay is not necessarily weak. Paraguay had a much much better GS update this week. Colombia doesn't really need this game, however if they lose and Mexico wins it will coe down to Point Diffential, but they have a huge lead there so they are basically in. My pick: Paraguay wins with extra effort and it comes down to PD against Mexico.

Brasil(18) at United States(5)
Both teams had good GS updates, and both teams have yet to lose a game. This week it will most likely be a TIE vs TIE game as this game does not matter too much. So with a level playing field it comes down to talent and I believe that United States have better talent and GS with their guards while Brasil has better GS and talent with their bigs and in Buzzerbeater, the inside offense is the harder one to stop. My pick: Brasil goes inside and wins.

Americas U21 Continentals

Pool A:

Results:

Peru 69 at Uruguay 82
Uruguay had some very very good ratings in this game and it helped to beat the home team in this game as their look inside offense was incredible. Peru's defense looked good, but that is a result of their HCA. POTG:Yamandu Molder had 14 points, a team high 11 rebounds, and a 13.0 rating.

Canada 104 at Costa Rica 60
This game looked like it would be a defensive battle when the first quarter ended in a 15-8 Canada lead, but then Canada got it going and never looked back from their as they won this game handily by 44 points. Canada stayed perfect and are first place in the ppol as the last undefeated team. POTG: Isaac Massicotte had 12 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and a game high 14.5 rating.

Venezuela 113 at Bahamas 77
venezuela got a free win of the week as they were able to crush the woely Bahamas squad. Venezuela had some good ratings in this game and look pretty good to be honest. POTG: Ernesto Solar had a team high 21 points, 9 rebounds and a 12.0 rating.

1.Canada U21(1) 5-0 506 316
2.Peru U21(3) 4-1 496 319
3.Uruguay U21(2) 4-1 515 347
4.Venezuela U21(4) 2-3 491 437
5.Costa Rica U21(5) 2-3 442 497
6.Bahamas U21(7) 1-5 421 662
7.Barbados U21(6) 0-5 303 596

Picks:
Barbados(95) at Venezuela(64)
Venezuela needs a win to clinch a spot in the next round and they are lucky to get a free win of the week for the second week in a row. My pick: Venezuela wins and advances to the 2nd round.

Costa Rica(71) at Uruguay(23)
Uruguay is a much stronger team then Costa Rica, they do not need a win like Costa Rica does, but I think Costa Rica should realize that Venezuela is playing Barbados and so the chances that venezuela will lose and Costa rica will win plus improve their point differential enough to advance over venezuela are slim, paper slim. My pick: Uruguay wins against extra effort.

Canada(19) at Peru(28)
Canada and Peru look fairly similiar, however Canada looks like they have an edge at every position. Canada also seems to have an edge GS wise. The only thing Peru has going for them this week is the GS of their bigs and HCA. My pick: Canada wins this one, in a close affair.

World Cup:

Pool A:

Results:

Misr 110 at Australia 124
Misr put up a real good fight in an even effort match. However they came up short as Australia was able to pull this one out in a good game. Australia's offense was effective every quarter as they were able to dismiss Misr. POTG: Rudolph Radford had a team high 23 points, a team high 13 rebounds and a 17.0 rating.

Italia 108 at Chile 98
Well I was wrong and based on the ratings that Italia put up they really did not like me picking Chile. The ratings that Italia put up were phenomenal, jawdropping and they snuck out the 10 point victory over Chile and deservingly so as Chile was just weaker then Italia. POTG: Paolo Spolaore had a game high 23 points, a game high 14 rebounds, and a 16.5 rating.

Uruguay 111 at Philippines 83
Uruguay won this in a game that they just won every quarter in and that is all it took. Philippines were outmatched and Uruguay just took control. Uruguay is now in a good position to advance with their second win. POTG: Juan Bruschi had a game high 21 points, 8 rebounds and a game high 18.5 rating.

1.Italia(1) 4-0 502 462
2.Chile(2) 3-1 470 405
3.Uruguay(3) 2-2 463 442
4.Australia(5) 2-2 464 465
5.Misr(6) 1-3 417 474
6.Philippines(4) 0-4 398 466

Picks:
Chile(1) at Philippines(16)
Chile is still at good GS levels and are much much better then the Philippines. Philippines are outmatched in this game and the GS levels of the strength of their team, their bigs, are a problem. Philippines are already out and Chile is already in. My pick: Chile wins this one fairly easily.

Italia(4) at Misr(32)
Misr looks as strong as they will ever be, however that is still not good enough to beat Italia and their amazing GS and talent. Misr needs this game however and will most likely put it all out there for a chance at winning. My pick: Italia outlasts a crunch from Misr and finishes first and undefeated.

Australia(8) at Uruguay(7)
Australia and Uruguay are two evenly matched teams and this one is going to come down to effort and GS. I think the effort level should be equal as both teams have basically clinched a spot in the 2nd round, but GS wise I think that Australia has the better GS situation and that should be the difference. My pick: In a LI , M2M , TIEvs TIE game Australia comes out on top just barely.
