One star/ball after losing by 16, away, new division, TIE.

I am obviously also less disappointed than my fans are. ;-)

Does the enthusiasm strategy (i.e. playing PIC, TIE or Normal) affect the perception of the fans for a particular game?

I just got promoted to III and played away, TIE and lost for 5. My fans gave me 1 bb.

My guess: losing TIE may be reason.

Nobody knows. In HT it does.

But depending on game intelligence it could influence in different ways. Not every fan would punish you for giving motivation and/or good players a rest in order to prepare for more important matches.

We will find out I guess.

So does the fact that the PR-Manager appears on the fan survey page imply he has a large effect on the fans mood or does it mean the info is more accurate or both or neither?

From the rules:

A skilled PR-Manager may be able to help fans focus more on your team's achievements, and less on its shortcomings.

So It seems the PR-Manager has an effect on the fan mood, but I don't know how much.

Now that we have some more data I am astonished about the calculation of the overall summary of the fan's attitude:

My single stars in 5 categories add 5 + 2,5 + 4 + 4 + 5 = 20,5 (in this order; no ratings so far for rival, cup and TV).

Divided by 5 would be ~4,1 - but I only reach 3,5 according to the survey.

Explanations (attempts...):
- in the rules it is evident that certain aspects of the survey (e.g. last season) can change their importance throughout the season,
- some questions are more important than others,
- inaccuracy.

In my case the only weak point is this season's performance. Due to 1-1 I receive only 2,5 there. So this seems to be valued much more than any factor.

Edit: PR 10

I still don’t really get this. Last season, I win 17 games and make it to the Finals. That gets me 4 balls for last season. So far this season I’ve won my first 2 games, both by pretty good margins (even though I was TIE in both). I still only 4 balls for this season, but maybe the fans thought my players were just going through the motions since they were TIE, and I rested my starters a good deal. (I’m definitely one of the top 2 teams in my league this season, so I’ll get to do a lot of TIE and my scrubs will get plenty of playing time.) I haven’t had any TV games yet, and I haven’t yet played my rival. So are the fans happy with the direction of the team? Well let’s see, I’m dominant in my league, my players are getting better and better, though I haven’t picked up any players other than from the draft (1/2 ball), I haven’t traded or waived anybody in the last few months (5 balls). It seems I’m a team on the up and up with a great future ahead, a roster full of youth, certainly ready to promote to Division 3 next season, a situation with great optimism.

So are the fans happy with the team’s direction? 3 balls. That’s it.

I’m having a 4 ball season, coming off a 4 ball season. Is the fact that I haven’t been on TV yet counting against me? Do I need to play my rival to look like I’m “going in the right direction”? I’m thinking my home attendance should be excellent with my current situation, but it’s way down compared to most of last season with ticket prices just about the same. Is there something I missing?

Only concerning the point about this season's performance:

Also with a view to real life, any judgement on a season after 2 out of 21 matches would probably be accompanied with the words "so far" and a certain emotional/mental reservation.

Probably top values cannot be achieved before the season has seen a few more matches and allows a more solid judgement. Just guessing.

I hear you about this season. I even acknowledged that in the post. But what about the team's direction?

Here's a real life situation. The Chicago Bulls are constantly improving, they finally make the playoffs, then the next year the win a playoff round. This happened 2 seasons ago. Take a poll of Bulls fans and before last season started, they would agree that, even if it wasn't yet the year that they'd be good enough to win the NBA championship, they were going in the right direction. Now imagine that 2 games into last season they would have been 2-0 instead of 0-2, I'm sure they would be just as convinced they were going in the right direction. They would been more sure of that than that the season was going well, since it was only 2 games in, but even then, what could the fans want more to think the season was going well?

Home in the Cup, TIE, won by 47, half a ball!
My fans are tough to lease.

Once I scored a basket that still makes me laugh.
