Yes unfortunately we lost but to be honest we had slim chances for the win against Misr from the beginning :(
Things have gotten more complicated now and fighting for the 2nd place is probably as hard as fighting for the 1st place from the beggining.
I hope in our next games luck will smile upon us...

About the 2 FA, I will ask their new managers their plans and so on.
Looking on the bright side, South Africa NT has won last 2 games :P

Hello there,
Just wanted to say that I have come to the conclusion that U21 needs outside guys badly (PG/SG/SF) at this point. No matter what will the WCQ will be, in a few weeks almost all our outside guys will turn 21 :(
A few will probably have what it takes to continue to the South Africa NT and make it stronger (Jabulani Beye (4890891),Theo Weinstein (6069687),Lisimba Chimusasa (4890915), and Mangoba Boateng (6069676) have chances). I will talk at the end of the season with the current or the new manager in charge.
The thing is that we have a LOT of inside guys in our youth team (this is great news for the NT because there are practically none there) but then again we don't have enough outside guys... So I have decided to kick 3 of them (the recent FAs) and another one that has not improved for a long time and get 3 outside guys with hope that they will become FA soon.
Also there is not long until draft will take place, so I would kindly ask the SA managers to pick players that they are going to train (please don't take the chance of others that really want to train by taking a good player and keeping it in your roster untrained just because he has lots of dots...).
The game will start soon so I need to go enjoy it.
Good luck all,
Boss

Thanks guys, also for u21 we had a lucky win but it was nice to see it happen :)
Things are getting harder and harder to qualify for WC directly from African Cup but there is still hopes with the recent win. Practicaly we have to win all games if South Africa is to get 2nd place. Now we have another hard game and I hope the lads can recuperate in time.

Jordan I will give you the improvements at the end of the season don't worry ;)

Tounes U21 South Africa U21 112 - 113

Well you can say lady luck is smiling upon us :) We are still capable to qualify for the WC. In order to do that we need to win against Nigeria. Next week we will have a break so to speak, I'm sure the team will not cause us problems.
So what better time for the owners of SA U21 players to train hard then this :P

The thing about buzzerbeater that I don't really enjoy is that if a team from a less competitive continent (like Africa or Asia) qualifies in the WC, will probably get less points (for NT ranks, due to the stronger teams from Europe) then one that doesn't qualify and starts playing scrimmages (assuming it doesn't loose them all). I think the best way to resolve this is by boosting a teams points in the rankings once it made it to the WC...

So what would you do? Go for the WC and the glory of getting there without winning a game or stay back home and raise your rankings through scrimmages? :)

As I said before my objective was to qualify the team for WC, so I don't have any excuses if I fail. ;)

See you soon and train hard!
Boss

Congratulations for the win Boss Man!
SA has good chances to improve the position in the Standings.
I believe next match it's quite easy and the last match is the most important.

Today 18/05/2009 20.00 Al Jazair U21 South Africa U21

Al Jazair lost all the matches in the Africa Competition.
I believe that we don't have any problem because our players are better than the players of Al Jazair(Best player have 10 k and 7 k of salary) and also an other thing good for SA is the Game Shape of the players of Al Jazair that is not good.
And also if you look at the some of their matches (5725),(5178), you can see that we probably don't have any problem .
Good luck for the match Boss MAn

Exactly what I was thinking but to some point in the 3rd quarter they almost matched us on the score table :)
All good in the end and now we have the last game against Nigeria were all is possible.
We have to beat Nigeria to have mathematical chances to qualify to the WC. If not we go in the second pool for qualification and probably there it's going to be even harder since we meet the teams from Europe...
Go South Africa!

This is it guys. It's the final game against Nigeria. If we want to keep the hopes to qualify directly from the African Groups we need to win. Winning is essential this time but not sufficient as there will probably be 3 teams with the same results in this case so basically.
I still think we can make a very competitive U21 team we just need the right players to get to the right managers :)
It's been very hard but with the help of my fellow South African guys (and some from outside that did a great job training our guys) we did a pretty good job.
