I don't think matching your outside scoring with his outside scoring is the right way to see things.

If we go solely by ratings, I would see it this way: you're a normal focus team, so if your team takes outside shots it's your proficient (high) offense vs their prolific (medium) defense, while if your team attacks inside, you are putting your prolific (low) offense against their prolific (medium) defense. Both your teams point of focus is lower than his defense. Meanwhile, your prolific (medium) inside defense has to handle his wondrous (medium) offense (which probably caused you to have a lot of fouls). Your outside defense might overwhelm his outside offense, but he is attacking inside, so I would think it's redundant (disclaimer: this is just how I would analyze the ratings personally. It's not some knowledge I picked up from the forums so don't take it as an absolute xD)

If you look at it this way, it doesn't seem like a close game anymore. The only reason it's close is probably because of GDP.

That said, I still think the reason you lost was because of the FTs.

I won last season, this season I’m going to get my teeth kicked in. I plan to downgrade my doctor to save money. Would everyone agree that firing a staff member (when downgrading skills), it’s ideal to do it after your Saturday game and before Monday economic update?

I have to pay a 1 week severance, but I’d like to get the benefit of using him in tonight’s (Saturday night) game.

Hello, guys!

I'm a new manager here and I'm still in the process of learning this game.

Yesterday, I watched this video on YouTube about the most efficient training sessions in BuzzerBeater.
https://youtu.be/yN_0E74KkqY

I was thinking to develop my rookie shooting guard in the first two seasons and I'm wondering what is the best way to do it and what is the most efficient way to train his Outside Defense since only PGs get 100% training of that skill if I choose Pressure training.

Thank you very much for your feedback! I love the channel, I've been watching it for the last two days, learning as much as I can.

How often should I change and rotate these training sessions? I read somewhere it's good to change it every two or three weeks. What is the reason behind that?

Basically like what EBW said: train 1 on 1 forwards for at least 1 full season.

This is because in BB, there's such a thing called "elastic effect". Imagine skills as a rubber band. You hold onto both ends and pull the rubber band. The longer and harder you pull it, when you let go of one end, the faster it will spring to your other hand. So similarly: the higher you train 1 skill, when you switch to a similar skill, the other skill will be trained faster than normal because the first skill is "pulling it".

So training 1 on 1 forwards the whole season will push your player's driving to quite a high level, and it will cause your player's OD to increase at a much faster rate than if you trained it normally (without the One on One first).

If you switch training every 2-3 weeks, at most you'd get 1 pop. That's not enough to take advantage of the elastic effect. You can still do that, but it will take longer to train a player.

General overview/ TIER list you can find here:
If your guards have inside shot look inside can be nice(most powerful tactic for seasons, not sure if still)
If you have high jump shot you can think about motion(jump range not needed) or RnG(jump range needed &some rebounds)

Fast tactics are useful when you are playing with weaker teams so +/- will be higher.
In tough games you can think about low post/ patient/reverse patient.
It also depends if you are playing home or away, patient away is not so good idea(words of best polish manager)

You should always analyse opponent and try to find weak spots and take benefits from using right tactic.
